David's Bridal
Hello Ladies,
Has anyone purchased their dress from davids Bridal. I went there this weekend and tried on tons of dresses. I just wanted some feedback and I know you girls are the ones to ask. Thanks!

Re: David's Bridal
i went to the one in lake grove the day after easter and it was a mad house. even with a appointment the girl that we were given was totally useless.
i def reccomend going on a weekday if possible when you narrow down what you like. there will be less people there and you have a lot more time to browse around at the other dresses.
I live in buffalo so i ended up buying my dress up here. I found that people here are much nicer and much more helpful than the girls at the lake grove store.

Re: David's Bridal
I went on an off day so it wasn't too crazy. I went to the one in Lake Grove and worked with Meredith who was SO sweet. I LOVED HER! I had a great experience there and love the fact that my dress was so affordable.

Re: David's Bridal
Ive heard good and bad things about them, My friend got married and got her dress there and had no problems. I heard bad things that the quality of the dress's were cheap and some brides even tried to sue them b/c there dress fell apart. It could be just rumors but I didnt want to take the chance

Re: David's Bridal
They have some beautiful dresses. Definitely go during the week so you have some personal attention. I didn't get my dress there but they have great ones.

Re: David's Bridal
Davids def. has some bad reviews but I have nothing but good things to say about them BUT I chose to deal with Davids in NJ. The Davids I went to in LI wasnt all the great in the customer service dept. The Davids I went to was amazing. Any doubt I had about Davids went out the window. It really all depends on the store, it doesnt mean they are all bad.

Re: David's Bridal
I got my dress at the Westbury store. I went on a weekday and got one-on-one attention. I heard the weekends and nights are crazy though. I love my dress! People do say the quality of the dresses isn't the best but, I know 3 people that got their dresses there and had no problems, as far as "the dress falling apart" etc. You're wearing it for one day, I think it will be fine. Obviously, the quality wouldn't be as good as say a $2,000 dress. I know someone who spent ~4,000 for a dress and the buttons were falling off on her wedding day...if you can believe that

Re: David's Bridal
I went there and I had an okay experience. My sister got her dress there too and it was okay. It's not a luxury experience but the prices are reasonable and there are some really nice gowns for reasonable prices. I also like that you can try the dress on in your size instead of being clipped into it.
The only thing I would suggest is getting your alterations done elsewhere.
I got this one, but I'm wearing it without the sash.

I did the same. We went to one in NJ when I was looking because I heard good reviews but not the ones in LI...
Some of their dresses are not made that great but you do get what you pay for. My dress was around the same price as the maggie that I wanted so it really does depend on the dress... However I am not taking a chance with alterations so we will be taking it to another seamstress as well as getting some extras put on...

Re: David's Bridal
I went to Davids when I first got engaged. I wanted to see what was out there especially under one roof because it was easy to find what I liked. I wasn't intending to find a dress there BUT I wanted to try one so many styles. I went to Westbury and Carlotta helped me. She was really nice and kept bringing me tons of dresses to try. I felt bad knowing that I wasn't serious but I had fun.
For the people saying that the dresses are bad quality. I don't think that is the case. The difference with a couture gown is the materials are luxurious and David's uses decent fabrics but it doesn't mean the dresses are poorly made. My dress cost a lot of money and is very detailed with a lot of beadwork. I went to Davids' to look at BM dresses and what did I find? A lace dress VERY well made and beautiful beadwork and excellent quality made by Oleg Cassini. I swear, I would have considered this dress if I didn't find mine already. If I held my dress to this dress, you really couldn't say which one was more expensive or better quality- they were both very similar.
Girls, lets be careful on what we say about David's dresses. A lot of girls on here got dresses from there and there is no need to make them feel bad or second guess their dresses. JMO.

Re: David's Bridal
I bought my dress from David's. Like everyone else says, your best bet is to go on a weekday if you can. I've been to both Westbury and Lake Grove and I got totally ignored in Wesbury and treated like a queen in Lake Grove. Needless to say, I bought my dress there. I bought an Oleg Cassini. My dress is very well made and to me it's gorgeous. I didn't want to spend a small fortune on a wedding gown. If you find something you love at David's, there is no shame in buying from them. I just don't know about getting your dress altered through them. They seem a little shady in that department.

Re: David's Bridal
Thanks ladies. I went to the one in Lake Grove. My main reason for going was so my MOH could find a dress. i did not have and appt. but they were still super nice to me. Nikki helped me out and I tryed on at least 20. I will say some of the other sales woman were behaving inappropriatly (talking about other customers ETC.) I go back on Sat to show my mother the 3 dresses I picked. I will let you girls know how it goes. I appreciate a place like David's bridal I could not imagine spending $4000 on my wedding dress. It is only one day. Thanks for all your advice. I dont know what I would do without you!!!
