impromptu block parties

would you get upset if yoru neighbors randomly set up shop (6 times in the last 2 weeks) in the middle of the street with a bbq, chairs, tables of food, music blasting, etc; and had a mini party with 2 other houses?

Today- it started at 1... it will probably run till about 1:30am like last Sunday. They are screaming, laughing, hooting & hollering... yelling at cars that get too close to their cones...

The fact that its on a sunday would bother me, not in the daytime but you said until 1:30am. People work tomorrow and more importantly kids are back in school now.

I have these neighbors who have parties often in their backyard and they blast music so loud until VERY late at night and have tons of people in front of their house sometimes. On a friday or saturday its ok but i get annoyed when they do it on sundays or sometimes even during the week.

Well, in my culture things like this are done regularly. I grew up basically partying in the streets with my family. but now that IM older I can see how annoying it can be for other people. Especially on a Sunday night when people have to work Monday morning. That isnt right. At least a Saturday but not a Sunday. And not so frequent. Once a month fine but not 6 times in the last two weeks! Its very inconsiderate. Luckily the summer is almost over!

in the street? that is unacceptable - that is not their property which is why you need a permit to have a legal block party.

if it was on their property i would just get annoyed if it went passed 11PM on a weeknight, that just isnt fair.

Maybe you should just go out there, pull up a chair, grab a beer and see if they say anything

Why don't you make an anonymous call to the cops? They have to be breaking a noise ordinance law or something.....

ours do it EVERY nice weekend night
sometimes when its cold a fire pit comes out....

they say "it keeps away crime"
ok a bunch of drunken adults with their kids watching stops crime? how bout theres not any really here anyways your just pretending to keep it away

Yeah after 1130 you cant play music or 11 or something like that. Trust me I know, I got fined for it

That's just so random that they would set up like that in the middle of the street.. Don't they have decks?? I say after 10pm it's OK to call the cops!!

6 times in two weeks is unacceptable...it would definitly bother me....and who holds bbq's util 1:30am on a Sunday?

I did witness this on Friday night, she's not even exaggerating. After a certain time on a Sunday night, I'd call the cops on them. I don't get why they do it??? Like....sit in your d a m n backyard!

we're in the burbs.. so we have this thing called a BACKYARD They literally have set up at the end of their driveway & their party spills halfway into the street.... it is an absolute mess. I WISH I could get a picture of this

I am embarrassed to admit, I'm kinda hoping that one of them gets a flat tire since they've broken about 10 beer bottles so far


and one "woman" (i'll use that term loosely) has the most OBNOXIOUS laugh.. it is such a sinister witch cackle.. i cant even

I understand what you mean. The idiots behind me have parties all the time. They are in their backyard, but still obnoxious.

The guy laughs like a frickin hyena..soooo loud!

The finally stopped w/ the music after 11 b/c half the neighborhood complained to the cops, but they are loud just carrying on outside. So i have to close all my windows just to sleep and not be waken up by the obnoxious hyena and his cronies.

Oh, and they have a blow up projection screen tv that they watch boxing and stuff on and you can hear the bell dinging from 5 blocks away on the main road lol. I know, sounds cool, but not at 1:30 am.
