Im sorry but when I think of an actress to play Etta James, I immediately think of Queen Latifah (not sure of her actress name). She is vulumpuous just like Etta James and a plus can sing as well. When she was in the remakes of Hair Spray with the blonde wig she was a dead ringer!! But Beyonce... Sorry Just dont see it.

I agree with that too. Etta James is on the bigger side and for Beyonce to play her she would have to either gain weight or be digitally enhanced. Queen Latifah would have probably done a wonderful job too. She's an amazing actress and singer.

I wonder if they even offered her the role? I agree that Beyonce is quite the show woman and when it comes to her shows she is up there with Tina Turner. But when it comes to movies I dont think she is that great an actress. I really didnt care for her part in Dream Girls. Queen Latifah has the background with Chicago, Hair Spray and acting all around (Living Single, House Party 2 or 3 I forget) and other projects. If she was playing that part and it was in the movie theaters or on tv I'd watch it.
