anxious....
My invitations went out over a week ago... and we are still waiting for the first reply to come in! I'm highly anticipating it and want to know who the first one will be from... it's making me crazy!!
I know several family members put them in the mail at least 2+ days ago... why now does the mail decide to be slow! thank goodness I'm not getting married around major holidays I'd have to mail mine out 5 months in advance and request them back 3 months early....
about how long did it take you to receive your first RSVP?

The mail is soooo slow. We live in Manhattan and many of my guests live in Long Island. It took over 2 weeks after they had mailed them back for me to receive their responses! Just doesn't make sense!!

that is BS, and i would complain to the post office. I live in queens and sent out invites to people in LI, Jersey, Pennsylvania and they got theirs the next day. Jersey got it the next day, PA maybe 2 days later if anything. But no way should it take 2 weeks. You can send a letter overseas and they would get it quicker than that
i sent my invites out fri and saturday, did it in separate batches. And by monday we already had responses

date twin! I agree!!! the mail was doing very well. People received my TY cards from the shower literally the next day maybe 2 from being mailed in FL to NY/ NJ... but it took 2 days to reach the west coast and North west...and upstate NY, PA etc..... but yet 2 extra days for NJ and NY.
This mail is nutso lately! it must be all of the LI wedding girls invites in the mail causing backup

We got our first response within like 2 days. it was crazy. Sometimes they come in droves and taper off like they did for me. 1 week till our rsvp date and we still need over 40 responses.

I agree 2 weeks is extreme.....but check the date on envelope to see when dated.
Please also keep in mind post office was closed on monday.....so they are catching up from back log.
I got my first response in about 5 days.

I'm anxious too. My RSVP date is still about 2 weeks away but I have had a few days where I got no reply's at all. I dread having to make phone calls to see if people are coming but I know I gotta do what I gotta do.
I got my first response back 2 days after I sent them. It was mailed to LI though. But still, I even mailed to Canada and got a reply back within the first week and a half. You need to go to the post office.

finally my first physical RSVP... and well I got 13 in the mail today! way to make up for it  
I'm excited I want more now- well actually I want to open the ones I have but i'm being nice and waiting for FH to read the notes with me- why does he have to get out at 3 am! i may very well be still awake and waiting for him

apparently my mailman likes ODD numbers!
9 more today!! so that makes 3 consec. days .... 13- 07- 09 .... finally got our first no (but it wasn't an unexpected one) even so No's are hard.
Happier note my bustle pin came in today and it's AMAZING! I'm in love with it it's prettier in person
p.s. it's SHINNY! I love sparkle things
