Favors-one per person, or one per couple?

OK, am trying to figure out the whole favor thing, and to work them into our budget. Originally I was going to do a charitable donation in lieu of a favor, but FH is not thrilled w. this idea. SO, do you give favors to each guest, or each couple? I am torn bet. getting nice favors for each couple, or something small for each guest. Our guarentee is for 150pp, so I am assuming we will need 160 favors. Thanks!

Re: Favors-one per person, or one per couple?

Depends what it is!! If you use something like chocolate bars I would say one per person, if you did candles or a bigger item I would say 1 per couple

I think it depends on the favor and what you could afford. We did full size bottles of wine and gave one per couple.

I'm doing frames one per couple as favors.

And my aunt is making fabric roses for each plate with a little thank you note from us.

Definately do favors one per couple. So many weddings I have been to that had too many favors and it goes to waste.

We are doing mini bottles of wine, so it will be one per person. I could not see giving something so small to 2 people.

nrvbride- where are you getting the mini bottles from, if you don't mind me asking? I am researching wine favors now. Thanks!

We are doing
1 per couple
way too much $$ if we did one for each person, guess depends on what you get and how much you allot for favors

Re: Favors-one per person, or one per couple?

You have to keep in mind even though favors are small most men do not take favors at weddings. I mean unless you are giving away actual wine or something like that. Keep in mind men will look at favors and say oh thats cute and leave it right there.

I have seen many brides waste money on favors.

Re: Favors-one per person, or one per couple?

I think it depends what you are doing too, plus how pricey it is. I gave out little trees, and they were cheap enough I was able to do one per person.

Re: Favors-one per person, or one per couple?

well, I was thinking of wine stoppers, but they are too much to do one per person. For the one per person, I was thinking of CD favors, but even those can get pricey, and they are time consuming. How are they handed out if its one per couple? Are they on the table, or handed out at the end?

Re: Favors-one per person, or one per couple?

My BM just brought up a good idea, that we can do a charitable donation, and give each guest a card telling them about the donation, and give one favor per couple. Or do the candy bowl w. bags for everyone, and give a favor per person. ShelzyP, I like your idea too, that way everyone gets a little something on top of the favor.

Re: Favors-one per person, or one per couple?

I had wanted to do one per person, but i felt that it was a waste adn I felt that that alone was not enough so I decided on the almonds, and I also think they are cute, I am goitn to attach a saying to them too.

Re: Favors-one per person, or one per couple?

it definitely depends...

any food should be one per person

we gave candles and I thought it would be better that people could have 2 for their house so we did per person as well (although there were many left overs, but DH's aunt has 6+ in her house...lol)

although if it is something that it would be silly that a couple would have 2 in a house (I once got a water pitcher)...then one per couple
