Re: Money / Bills After the Wedding
This has been hard for me. I work very hard and have saved a large amount of money in the last 5 years. I have always meant to use to towards a real estate purchase. The thought of deciding with another person how to spend that money is hard to phantom sometimes. I make very good money and recently was looking at purchasing a very nice brand new car and FH sort of talked me out of it even though I can afford it and I save a lot every month. My parents always shared everything - they had a "what's mine is yours way of approaching things" - they were and still are a single unit in every way. I hope I am able to do the same.

Re: Money / Bills After the Wedding
Right now we have separate cc and bank accounts. We set up a joint checking and savings for the wedding which has been opened since Feb- slowly growing. I have substantial debt for vet school while Brian has none for grad school (its good to be a science phD), so right now I pay lower rent then him (I give him a check for rent/ultilties every month for the house we rent), but in the end we are pretty equal in montly expenses as I have my monthly loan amount to pay. brian prob makes 20% more than I do.
After the wedding, I think we will pool our money, but I think we will keep what we had before we got married. I am fiancial thinking ahead person in the group and brian is more in the present. We are both savers so that good!
Kids- I am undecided. But I spent 8 years getting my degree to pratice medicine and I don't plan on not doing that!
On a side note- I want to do a residency which if I ever get one (fingers crossed) I will be making next to nothing for 3 years and brian will be the main support which stresses me as I like to be independent,
