Photographers Review for 2009 Gals: Just called a few.
Just in case any '09 brides still need photographers:
1. Stacey Ilyse- was really nice, is emailing me pricing.
2. Infinite Photography By Danielle Noon - was also nice and is emailing pricing. **2 photographers in each package**
3. Duet - Don't know pricing because they were BOOKED for 1 year/4 months from now!!! 
4. Thomas Paul - $2500 includes 3 photographers (1 of which is an assistant), retouching, 25 minute engagement photoshoot, Thank You Cards, Proofs, CDs with all pics, some prints. If you get an album, price jumps to $3600.
**ONE OF MY FAVS SO FAR**
5. Dan Wagner - Was nice but I had to drive the whole conversation. He didn't seem to care if he got my business or not. (Just an observation.) $1850 is the basic package w/o an album. Includes just him as a photographer, 2 DVDs of all my pics, an internet picture gallary w/ a password for 3 months, 9 hours of shooting, and an engagement shoot (if my package has no album) is $400 for 1.5hrs.
6. Twelfth Night - They customize their package. Was $1950 (Add $650 if getting 2 photographers) which includes 4x6 proofs, DVD of images, TY Card design that I can take to Shutterfly, for example, a Rainy-day reshoot if you don't get any outside shots because of the weather, 10 hrs of coverage. **MY FAVORITE SO FAR**

I happend not to put Dan Wagner was a fav, but really he is because I LOVE his work that people have posted...maybe I caught him at a bad time, haha.

We're using Dan Wagner, and I can assure you he definitely cares. Out of all the photogs we met with, Dan was the most patent, and spent the most time with us. He's not a salesman -- which is one of the best things about him. I was on his blog this past Saturday, and he'd already posted photos from a wedding he shot the night before  !!!
Dan puts his engagement photo shoots on his blog, and they're the best I've ever seen. We're getting a free engagement shoot because we booked a package with albums during our first meeting with him. I don't know about 1.5 hours, but Dan told us he would spend as much time as we wanted on the engagement shoot.
We could've paid extra to get a second photographer, but decided we'd rather have a free assistant who also shoots, and more importantly works as a lighting assistant. Dan showed us many samples with double-lighting. And Dan was the only photog who mentioned having a lighting assistant.
I hope you let us know who your fav is after you meet everyone face to face.

Hey there! Ok - SO GLAD to hear that because I LOVE his work! I'm definitely meeting with him. And I think that it's also better to have the lighting assistant. Thanks so much for letting know this!

I am glad you are doing your research. I'm sorry you got a strange impression w/Dan Wagner on the phone, but I need to address what you wrote about his personality.
My FH gets very nervous about cameras and is shy around people he does not know. If he wasn't comfortable with our photographer our pictures would suck.
We met with Dan at his house, and the #1 REASON we booked him was how sweet and kind he is.
FH LOVED him and so did I. He has been so wonderful. He posts pictures of weddings on his blog right after he shoots them with the wittiest little comments underneath. He truly has a passion for his work but he is not pushy at all. That was also why we liked him so much. He truly wants his work to speak for itself- he does not want to convince you of anything.
(and as you have seen, it does)
My advice to you: meet with him in person. He will hand you album after album of beautiful pictures and he will just sit and let you look. He will answer ALL of your questions with patience and he will be very thorough. He is a true professional- not a car salesman.
I just wanted to let you know so you don't miss out on such a great vendor. (since you already like his work so much) HTH! FM if you need anything else (as always)

Thats too funny i had the same opinions as you and have the same 2 favs. I thought that same about Dan Wagner he was nice but didnt seem to care much.. and Duet was booked for me too and im not even on a saturday.. maybe they are taking a vacation. lol. so far i like TP and 12th night.. im also looking at patken but there were on the more $$$ side.

Hahaha - So funny you had the same experience! My wedding is on a Sunday - so I'm not Sat. either - funny that Duet was very booked.
Also - Thomas Paul called me back last night because he felt so bad that he forgot to mention a cute little book of pictures that come with the Engagement photo shoot. Thought that was very kind of him - out of his way, you know? Good luck with your search!

12th Night won me over though.

Just wanted to say once more that Dan Wagner called me back and we had a LOVELY conversation. He was having some trouble with a family member that was ill and I think that's why he came off a bit sad to me. Just didn't want anyone to think anything bad of him!
