Some Bride to Bride Advice! from an 08'er

hi girls since reading Jenn04's wedding advice i thought i would do one of my own!! (please excuse the horrible spelling!).

1. Dont stress the weather. Its out of yours hands. the best thing to do is plan for the worst and hope for the best!!! i was so worried about the possibility of rain and then i realized no matter how much is stress.. i cant change it. For those of you who are planning East end weddings i HIGHLY recommend atlanis Marine World for pics. they came out great and it was affordable 275.00 and if we choose not to go it was REFUNDABLE! We happen to have one of the most beautiful days of the summer but still chose to do the aquarium for the fun atmosphere.

2. Enjoy the morning getting ready and spending time with your girls and family. I thought i would have been a nervous reck but i was so calm that it made the girls relaxed. it was a really slow relaxed morning. I highly Recommend being Done with hair and make up before your photog. even gets there! at first i was really upset that we were a head of schedule and i would have no pics of me getting ready but to be honest it was a blessing in disguise. I still got pics in my sweats. but i didnt feel rushed or stessed cuz i was DONE already. all i had to do was put my dress on which is the really only important thing i cared about getting pics of.

3. MAKE A LIST OF MUST TAKE PICS!!!!! i wish i would have done this it would have made my life and the photogs. life a hell of a lot easier. There was a bunch of pics i wish i would have gotten that we forgot and now i regret it. but its done and over with and make the best of what you have now.

4. Dont let anyone tell you that you are TOO YOUNG to get married! (im not elaborating on this its pretty self explanitory!)

5. 2 year engagement is NOT too long! it was perfect. so much so that i had the most stress free day in about 2 years! My wedding was AWESOME!

6. IF something is not wht you expected SPEAK UP THEN! dont wait.. a few of my flowers had turned brown before we had even got to the church i wish i would have said something i was so upset that iwas going to cut them out. but i didnt. like above.. oh well too late kinda thing.. but i def. should have spoken up!

7. GO TO YOUR COCKTAIL HOUR!!!! we were able to get all of our Hi's, Thank you for comings in durring this and were able to ENJOY the whole reception.

8. Take time to spend with just you and DH after the ceremony. we were lucky and had a 45 min ride to the RH but it was so worth it! im glad we did have that!

9. desginate someone to be the go-to person if something goes wrong if you do not have a DOC. This was a great idea im glad we did it. i didnt know anything and again made for a stress free day. only one thing went wrong so i really cant complain no matter what. Also give this person all the tips to be handed out so you dont have to bother with that either.

10. dont feel bad if you dont get to each and every person.. they know its crazy the day of your wedding they will forgive you i promise!

11. Give yourself a day in between the wedding and leaving for the honeymoon. i was mad that we had that day.but so GREATFUL now! it was great to come home reflect unwind and PACK!

12. Do, do the extra details wether its DIY projects or purchased.. people NOTICE and love the personal touch!

thank you for posting the whole thing, but mostly the DIY comment....so many brides say it doesnt matter and its a waste of money....but i've always noticed at weddings....i really feel its those little things that make people say wow the couple put a lot of thought into their wedding to make sure things looked beautiful and everyone had a nice time!!!

sometimes i feel like its only me!
