where to find a dress?

I'd like to start looking for a dress, but I've been hearing negative things about a lot of popular places. Can anyone recommend a good place for a dress with reasonable prices and great service???? Thanks, Holley

Not sure where you live but i went to Fantasia Bridal in Rocky Pt and LOVED them...great customer service!!!!! Highly recommend them!

I got my dress at Centereach Bridal Suite. I have had a wonderful experience with them. I think I am really going to miss all of them. Alice was the salesperson who helped me and she put everything together for me and it looked amazing.

I used the Bridal Suite of huntington. They were great. If you need alterations, a spanish lady works there and she is TERRIFIC>>>>>>>>Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!

Honestly I have heard egative things about my place but I loved them...then I hear raves about a place that I thought stunk..so its really personal opinion...check out a few and you'll find a salon you like..Bridal Reflections Carle Place (got my dress there) is one to try.

I went to Kleinfeld and they have dresses with a range of prices - they also have trunk shows which are great because you can get a discount on a dress too. They have such a huge selection and I had a really great experience there!

the wedding salon in manhasset is amazing. not sure what your price range is but i think dresses start around 3k...

Where are you located? I would say take a trip to the city and go to RK Bridal. They have a large selection.

I went to Fontana is Scarsdale in Westchester.. They are awsome! They worked with me on the price and their service is unbelievable!! I am a former employee of there's and I can still say that I left on pretty good terms though! I had my grandma go in there (after I didn't work there anymore) and she is in a wheel chair and they treated her so perfectly! I was so amazed with the service and how they treated her! I would highly recommend Fontana to anyone! FM for more info if your interested!

I didn't get MY dress there, but, my BM dresses....Bridal Suite in Bay Shore. If you go, make an appt with Rachel. She's a friend of my MOH. She's very sweet and very attentive.

I didn't end up getting my dress from here, but Designer Loft in the city had a really large range of designers and price points. Even better, they were really low pressure. Might want to check it out.

Lotus bridal in brooklyn has the best customer service, and the the best seamstress ever! I had my final fitting yesterday, everything is perfect, and I had nothing but positive experiences the whole time. They are very reasonably priced too.
RK in manhattan is another place I looked too. They are great, if you can go on a weekday early in the day. Its crazy crowded on weekends.

I got mine from David Bridal's $99 sale. I had no issues with it so far. I have a fitting this month and I will see how they are.

If you are just exploring options and want to know whats really available and try on some fun designer stuff.... visit Mark Ingram in the city.

I honestly had no intention of buying a dress, in fact I was conviced I'd be wearing a white cocktail dress as my wedding dress... since I could literally walk around with a sign on my forhead "I hate wedding dresses"

So with the advice of a friend, who said just go fo fun, I did. The environment was so comfortable, so easy, the sales ladies where so incredibly helpful and in tune to what you want and how you want it. She was like a freaking wolf hunting for "MY DRESS" and I can't after the first 2 sets of dresses I didn't like, she came back with a 3rd set that I was to die for. I was drooling. My eyes popped out of my head and I couldn't believe how gorgeous and elegant they were.

I think even if I didn't buy my dress there, the experience really taught me what my style is and what I look good in, and not mention what real quality silk feels like on your body.

The pressure factor was still there, but it wasn't crazy like I felt in other places.

I fell head over heels for one dress, thought about it for a month, got yelled at by everyone over the $$$ of the dress. But f-it, I wanted it and my Aunt helped me buy it.

I just picked it up this Thursday and I AM EXSTATICLY HAPPY! It fits like a glove, they measured perfectly and just needs some hemming since I'm 5'2" ...

But I'm psyched. What a great experience.

RK Bridal. Fantastic prices, enormous selection, and the staff there is great. I would however, not recommend them for alterations.

Not Lillett'es in Baldwin. I can say they lack professionalism and I hear the service is terrible as well. Personally I had a miserable experience with them.

Wedding salon of Manhasset, RK bridal (totally opposite spectrums but both are great depending on what you are looking for).

Kleindfelds ... I bought mine there ... they are beyond amazing! You will have a great expereince there and they do work with your budget. They wont show you dresses out of your range.
