What else can we throw?!

So I just found out that we can't throw rice or petals when we're leaving the church! Any creative ideas on what else can be tossed???
Oh, and I'm not too excited about bubbles! People don't ever know what to do with them, and they blow the wrong way, and they're MESSY!

Its the only thing I can think of that wont make a mess which is what the issue is-the only other thing would be fun fetti-its candy and it biodegrades with time, only problem-once people realize its candy they wont throw it....like me at my friends wedding

At my cousin's wedding everyone was handed bells. Everyone rang the bells as they exited the church.

I love the bells idea, where would one get those?????? Also, my church says no petals either yet everyone I know how got married there threw petals ... so what gives? Maybe the rules can be bent?!

They have the bells at michaels or AC Moore.

You can get the bells anywhere. I know Party City has them in the wedding section. You could also get them on any of the wedding favors pages, like www.exclusivelyweddings.com I did a quick search. The avg. price is about 7.95 for 24 bells.

The only thing with bubbles is that I've been to weddings with them and I feel like people won't use them because of the mess! I know I didn't want to--I wanted to take some pics without my hands being messy!
I did find those little candy hearts which are cool-and also some lavender-I'm thinking of mixing to two-I think it will smell pretty--let's hope my church allows it!

my problem was that i didnt like anything and couldnt decide so i told DH the week of to decide and he said bubbles and at this point i didnt even care so just let him pick whatever he wanted plus since i didnt really care for anything i didnt care to decide...which worked out bc i didnt have time to package anything. I wasnt that crazy about the bubbles at first either bc i also thought not everybody would do it but i was surprised how everyone did do it and did it well lol...Its funny looking at the pics now and seeing the guys in our bp blowing the bubbles and actually into it , i thought they would be like oh no im not doing that hahahaha.

I am having the same problem. I came across this site for a butterfly release, and LOVED the idea. Only problem is, my wedding day is a hit or miss with the weather... April 4th. I was told that they won't leave the cage if the weather isn't perfect...OY! So... I don't know what I"m doing yet. My sister had the idea of releasing balloons...just the bridal party (since it's soo LARGE !!! LOL) but I don't know if I like that idea too much either. It's a hard call when the churchs are taking everythign away ....

I've seen at Michaels and AC Moore this stuff called wedding rice. It's little white hearts and they say it's safe for the birds to eat. I want to do that or maybe the bubbles.
For those who asked about bells- you can also ge them through the oriental trading company. they have a whole catalog of wedding stuff. you can check them out online too!

I'm doing bubbles.. Although I hate the idea, thats all my church would allow... My cousin had live butterflies let go... They came in a little box and all the guests did was open it and they butterflies flew out... It was really cute! If you want more info FM me and I will call her.

I think rice is a health hazard b/c it's roun people can slip and fall. Keep the ideas comin'! You've been a big help so far!

I've seen guests lining the church steps holding sparklers as the bride and groom come out...it's a bit of a safety risk, especially if you have a lot of small children invited, but it might be something to consider

will the church let you throw confetti? or the longer streamers that they throw on New Year's Eve?

What about the confetti that disentagrates (spelt wrong) I just ordered it myself from WWW.exclusivelyweddings.com. They also have really cool bells. They are 4" tall & called reception bells.

HI IM GETTING MARRIED I 2010 AND I WAS THINKING OF SOMETHING DIFFERENT TO DO AFTER THE CHRUCH INSTEAD OF RICE OR BUBBLES. I CAME UP WITH NOISE MAKERS. LET ME KNOW WHAT U THINK OFTHAT....

i was at a wedding once where they actually gave LIVE butterflies in mini white boxes. when the bride and groom walked out, everyone untied the bow and opened up the box and the butterflies flew out everywhere... something different!
