International Invites

What did you do for postage for the RSVPs that are going overseas?
Do you not give them a RSVP card and follow up with a phone call? Do you try to find postage for other countries or leave it up to them to put a stamp on?

Re: International Invites

Oh wow, I'm wondering about that too!

I gave up trying to see if I can find stamps from 3 different countries abroad, its just too much. I was going to leave the RSVP envelope blank ... not sure if thats a good idea

I sent about 10 invitions overseas (Italy, Egypt, Germany, Switzerland, Greece) and I did sent them an RSVP card without postage. I included my phone number and e-mail address to make things easier on them. They mostly responded via phone or e-mail. I only had one person RSVP via mail and they put their own postage.

I hope this helps

That's a really good idea. I want to include the RSVP because my pocketfolds seem so empty without them. Thanks.

Really? I was told by the Post office staff that if you put an american postage on the envelope it doesn't matter because they can't use it. They need the stamp from their country in order for the RSVP to be delivered. I figure why waste a stamp , plus they all understood the reason

Re: International Invites

We didn't put postage on our international invites. It was all of DH's immediate family, so we figured they wouldn't mind spending a dollar to send it back.

Re: International Invites

FH received an invite to a wedding in Canada, and they had a Canadian Stamp on the RSVP envelope...which meant that we couldn't even use the RSVP envelope to return it to them because Canadian stamps won't work. So, we had to use our own envelope and stamp to send it back to them.

So, general rule of thumb for me is don't include American postage on RSVP envelopes sent to guests in other countries.

Wow, thanks for posting this since I hadn't even thought about it. I have a bunch to send out to Ireland but never even took the separate postage into account
