Help!!! Concerns with contract at CLM??
So I decided to book with Chateau La Mer. I looked at places and then left town so they are holding my date and they sent me the contract. It looked pretty standard but on the back of it, it clearly states that they reserve the right to change any banquet room at their discretion.... ***???? I don't get it. I don't want the other room (and I would not have even booked here if that was the room) for a number of reasons including its not handicap accesible. Plus I went with this RH based on having the atrium room. I even up'd my minmum by 20 people to do this.
Can someone tell me is this standard on other contracts?? I know I shouldn't worry but I am very leery of signing something that has a stipulation such as that....
What do I do???? Can I just cross that line out and sign it??? HELP!!!!!!!!!

Re: Help!!! Concerns with contract??
That is one of the reasons I did NOT book with them.. Windows didnt' have all that fine detail. Seemed there was waaay too much fine print.. didn't feel comfortable. ...I would speak to someone at the RH... Tell them how you feel.. ask what you can do to DEF. reserve THAT room..

Re: Help!!! Concerns with contract??
I would call RH at once and speak with the banquet manager. Discuss your concerns and tell them that the only reason you booked with them is because of that room. I would tell them you are going to cross it out and initial it, then, make sure you get the contact info, name, number of the person you spoke to and put their name and date you spoke with them on the contract. You have every right to completely understand your contract!

Re: Help!!! Concerns with contract at CLM??
Just because it's printed in a form contract doesn't mean you have to agree to those terms.
most companies will put ridiculous things in there that are unfair but which serve their own interests.
explain to them that you want that specific room for X reasons, and will be crossing off that part of the K and are only willing to book with them if they agree to it. its not an unreasonable request and they should agree to it.
kudos to you for actually reading the contract.

Re: Help!!! Concerns with contract at CLM??
Thanks! I am a bit paranoid. I always feel like people and companies are trying to scam me... probably due to the numerous bad experiences I have. No I am vigilant. I read and examine everything. LOL! I'm a freak. ... but nobody is going to get over on me!
