Re: Weekday Wedding
Never been to one, never been invited to one. I understand that price is a consideration, and do agree that in the end you should do what you want. However, as a guest, truthfully I would feel resentful for the extra inconvenience, and as stated above, employers don't like it. Guests traveling with kids would make it extra difficult. Unless it were a close relative, I would seriously consider not going. That said, you should proceed in a way that's right for you and FH, but be prepared for people not to be able to make it.

Re: Weekday Wedding
my wedding is in 6 weeks and its on a thursday. i have about a 90% attendance. i thought it might be lower, but the only people not coming are from out of town or recently had babies (and are OOT).
if people want to come they will. if they want to just come to the reception, thats fine. i am paying for it myself, and i couldnt afford a saturday night. you cant please everybody. if people feel they have to take off from work, then whats the big deal? they have a choice to make.
leave work early maybe vs. attend a wedding. we've all taken off a day here or there for whatever reasons we want. i think that the people that want to go, will go. if its too much trouble, then they really dont have to come.
