RANT - Lillette's - UPDATED
I will start off by saying, I know a lot of you have had great experiences there, so please dont jump down my throat for expressing my thoughts on this place and my particular ordeal.
I went to Lillette's this past Sat to try on dresses and had a particular dress in mind (the one I just bought) that they did not carry but told me they could order for me. I went to try it on at another salon yest and called Lillette's to ask how much they were asking for it. They wanted a few hundred more and when I told them how much i was quoted (they asked) they told me that the manufacturer does not allow for this dress to be sold less than a certain amount and if they found out that it was being sold at that price they would stop doing business with that salon.
So, I buy the dress at the less expensive price and today had a question about the train so i called the salon to ask. The owner, who was so nice and measured me herself yest, told me politely after answering my question that she got a call from the manufacturer after i left yest claiming that a Long Island salon called and informed them that they were selling the dress too low - and USED MY NAME that this LI salon had given them. I was FUMING. Seriously, my blood was boiling. I get that its a cut throat business with price wars and whatnot, but how dare you have the audacity and unprofessionalism to bring a potential bride of your shop into the situation. I was mortified when the owner told me this. Completely embarrassed.
I am thoroughly disgusted with the way Lillette's handled this situation - Donna specifically, since she was the one that ratted them out at MY expense - and they will be hearing EXACTLY how I feel about the situation the minute they open tomorrow morning. I may have been sweet as pie Saturday, but tomorrow the claws come out.

That is so unprofessional. I am always careful never to say where my other quote is from. Sometimes it is hard not too. Will the second store still be able to honor the price?
p.s is that a mon cheri dress?

Ughh so frustrating! Well it is beautiful and now you have the dress (I went to a buyer show for them in 2006/2007 and they did mention minimum prices but I bet all desgbers have them). Def. let the store know but I wouldn't let it get to you. You just won't ever refer business to them!

wow! I found my wedding dress at Lillette's and saved hundreds by ordering from Bridal Elegance instead. I wasn't crazy how they treated me at Lillette's either (especially that they didn't allow picture taking in the store

OMG completely rude and unprofessional. I personally am not a fan of that shop, I had no choice but to order a BM dress from there once before and vowed to never step foot in there again, I am sorry you are going through this. Meow baby! Get those claws sharpened!

Wow that is crazy! I mean if she really wanted to get the shop in trouble for something they werent supposed to be doing, did she really need to use your name?!?! Im sorry this happend to you. Did the other salon give you problems?? Keep us updated with what happens tomorrow.

When I came to NY for a visit this past winter, I made it a point to go to lillettes to try on dresses. I too, was totally unimpressed with their service. I didnt like the tone and snippiness they had with me at the front desk, reminding me that I cant come in here off the street, I need an appt. I oh so politely reminded her that I did have one. That set the tone nicely for the next hour....
I said I want a particular style dress.... instead they brought me all A-line dresses, which I did not want to try on. I told the woman again what I wanted, and she didnt listen, so I left . ... I was beyond frustrated with that place.

i don't doubt that i may be flamed for this ...
but i see things from a different perspective.
if the manufacturer has a set pricing structure for their gowns (usually intended to prevent people from shopping around and to reduce this sort of competitiveness between stores) ... how is it fair that the original store sell the dress at below that set price?!
its a shame that you got caught in the middle, but i don't blame lillette's one bit for calling the manufacturer!

100% agree but they used her name...THAT is not ok, its not right in all regards.
i would definitely call them up and give them a little peice of your mind.........how rude and unprofessional

I completely agree with you in that i can see how they would want to take every step they could to ax the competition by finger pointing, but they had NO RIGHT to get me involved, and thats what I am livid about.
