For those who are house searching.
I have a list of websites: For those who requested.
The house we were looking at went down 40K in two months!! These websites have helped us out big time, mls is good too but they have to pay 500$ per listing. Not every house is listed on that site.

www.trulia.com
www.zillow.com

Re: For those who are house searching.
Thanks for posting. I was reading the first page, and although i agree with what he says, I still don't want to leave Long Island. Yes its cheaper to live in Georgia and I can get a brand new house three times the size, but I hate the heat, living in small towns in the middle of nowhere and I can't live where they can't make a good pizza! I love Long Island! I don't want to leave!

I dont want to leave and we are NOT leaving. We are already looking into buying land to build our retirement home on in the future, possibly in vermont. The heat is enough for me to stay away from the far south, Texas, Florida..... I do think that since they are predicting 2 million more + foreclosures, that we are going to wait it out at least till next winter. Yahoo finance and msn.com has really good articles on the real estate market. They are predicting this winter alone the real estate market will drop another 10 to 15 % .....longislandbubble.com just shows how people bought houses for 200k 10 years ago and they are trying to sell it for 550K today...unbelievable!!!!! That site also shows how many times people have slashed their prices. Its really interesting!

I have seen this going on as well.. some people put their house on the market in 2007 for some ridicously high amount and then dropped it by 100k and slowly have been dropping it by $20k and so on.. realizing that they cant be too greedy.. We are running into a lot of homes that were purchased in the late 90s and are being sold for double or triple of what they paid for but no renovations have been done to the house.. windows are old. kitchen is old and so on..
dont these peopel watch HGTV? lol...
happy house hunting! GL!
