Do you get resistance on making plans????
3-day weekend coming up... and plans are starting to pop up. I am a planner - if I could schedule out a month ahead of time - I would LOVE it!! DH on the other hand is sooooo the opposite......
Does anyone have the same battle? Can anyone offer a solution? pleeeeez

His entire family doesn't plan anything. It drives me up. a. wall. His sister graduated last Saturday. We didn't know if we were going or not until Wednesday. We didn't even make lunch plans until after the ceremony.
I go ahead and make plans a month in advance, or more, and just inform him. It helps that I have a near perfect memory for conversations, so I can 'play back' everything we said when it's time to leave, and he's trying to swear he knew nothing about anything. Then he'll hear me repeat back some vaguely familiar objection he raised at the time, and has to admit that I told him about the plans in order to take advantage of saying that he never wanted to xyz in the first place.

Oh this is the story of my life. I've just learned to make the plans, tell him 100 times, and if he doesn't want to go, I'm going without him. I'm not holding up my life (i.e. fun times) b/c he has to think about things. I've learned that if I go that route with him, we'll be thinking about it bored, at home, by ourselves.

yup. Same here. He won't commit to plans so I just make plans without him. And often, I go without him. I have gotten on a plane without him because he couldn't decide.

i've always been a planner - and he's always been a whatever happens, happens...
he's gotten MUCH better with it over the years...but his friends still like to, just out of the blue - what are you doing Saturday? Unless you asked us like a week ago - we very likely have plans...sorry.
his family is the same way - calling on monday to come over on tuesday, or thursday night to come over on friday. PLEASE leave us alone - those are dave's ONLY two days off - and we make plans on those days because they are our only two days to see each other for more than 4 hours- so shut the heck up about us always being so busy....

I kind of thought I wasn't alone on this!
For the times that I just went ahead without him.- I still had a good time just it is somewhat unfulfilling...
Why can't it just be MY way... all the time??? and without any comments!!

Can't we just say ??? came up?
and my fav right as we arrive -
What time are we leaving???
guess it all relates back to the Venus and Mars idea...??
I find myself on these board daily... mostly reading - but I really need to start posting here more often - you girlz are helpful... and funny too!

I love making plans! I love having an outline of how everything is going to go. I kind of wish I wasnt like that. Im learning to be more laid back. If I book a trip I must read every review on tripadvisor and then book all of our events in advanced after reading reviews on them of course and then I make reservations at the top 10 resturaunts of where ever we are going. It actually gets more exhausting every time.

I dont get resistance...usually I make plans-tell DH all about them and he says ok-forgets and makes other plans without asking me first....so we have 2 sets of plans for the same night and time
