Just got back from a wedding at Marina Del Ray...
The food was awesome! The cocktail hour was an hour and a half and they had so much food and it was all excellent. They had a pina colada and other frozen drink station. The food was all inside but you could eat outside (we did) and it was really pretty outside!
The room we were in was called the Venetian and it was kind of simple but very nice. We sat at a table of 11 and there was still a good amount of room. The salad/appetizer was gorgeous... I almost didnt want to eat it. I took a picture, I'll post it tomorrow. It was a salad in a tortilla cup with various little food things around it - a roasted pepper, fresh mozz, bruschetta, olives and grape tomatoes.... very yummy.
You had a choice of either penne ala vodka or bowtie pasta with broccoli rabe. I had the penne - it was good but I was already full. For dinner I was told to get the duck by FH since he wanted to taste it but he wanted the apricot chicken. The other choices were veal scallopini, prime rib,salmon or a stuffed pork chop. My duck was delicious but again, I was pretty stuffed. They came around with a basket of garlic bread - it was really good. The only thing bad was that they didnt bring extra utensils so I was stuck using my fork that I used for my pasta after my salad fork was taken away. They had a touch of viennese on the table. I ate a really tasty cannoli. I'm pretty sure the cake was cannoli also but it wasn't super great (like I said, I was really full though). They had a station set up for cappacino/espresso and I got an espresso and it was really good.
Starlight Express was the dj. I think the bride and groom didnt make an extensive request list and they're not much of dancers so right away the dance floor was pretty empty. I hate an empty dance floor so I danced with my sisters to oldies and disco for quite a while. The really good music didnt really start until right before the cake but when it did it was awesome. They mixed it as if you were in a club - it was great! The bride didnt want requests and that was okay. My BIL was mad because he just learned Cotton Eyed Joe and they didnt play it.
The photographers wer Duet. Jay's team was there. He did my sister's wedding last year and still remembered her name and my BIL's name (this wedding was his sister's). Jay even came over to me and said he remembered I was Regina's sister. I acted like a giddy school girl and told him he's doing my wedding next year and we can't wait and Duet was the first vendor I booked. They seemed to have done an awesome job tonight!

Bump for pictures. My sister and her husband were in the bridal party so I posted a picture of her to see her dress. It was a Bill Levkoff... very pretty!

I had my H.S. prom and a few H.S. parties there...that place was beautiful then and its REALLY nice now!
