Need Help Ladies about Getting Off The Pill...

I know it's been talked about b4, but wanted to know if anyone else is having the same problem. I got off the pill March 1st (after being on it for 11 years) and got my pd. about a week late... right b4 I had bad cramps, heartburn and head aches (which I never had b4). Now I'm over a week late, but the cramps and heartburn went away. I heard from some people that you're very fertile when you get off the pill, but it doesn't seem true b/c when I spoke with other women some said it took months to even get their aunt flo.

Anyone else have the same problems with getting off the pill.

BTW... we're letting nature take it's course and see what happens (just wish I knew my cycle)

I really think it depends on your body.

My two friends got pregnant right after they got off the pill, no waiting at all. & then others takes about a month. My doctor told me I should be off the pill for a month before we start TTC, this way my body gets back on track.

I would call your doctor for more info. he/she probably knows best :)

i think it dffers from woman to woman. some go back to being right on time and others notice that their periods are all off track.
since you recently got off the pill, your body might be trying to get back into the swing of things...
i would say by your 3rd month of bcp free, you will be back to normal.

I just stopped taking it too. Finished my last pack last week so I'm just kind of waiting to see what will happen with my cycle.

But yeah I think it's different for everyone. My SIL got pregnant practically the day after she stopped taking them, it was soooo quick. But others it takes a while to adjust. I was so irregular to begin with (why I actually started taking it) so I have no idea what's going to go on with me. I think what you're going through is normal though....remember you were ingesting hormones for a very long time...and now you're not....your body needs to get used to it and it's just a little screwy for now.

it's all about your individual body.

I have been off the pill since March and while, yes, i've gotten my period, i am not yet pregnant.

a close friend of mine was on the pill for 10 years, like myself, and it took her 8 months to get pregnant.

unfortunately, there's no rule, it's different for everyone...

I just went off it after taking it for almost 10 years. I had bad hedaches and very heavy peroids on it, my gyno told me to be very careful right away saying I am very fertile.. so who knows

but i've heard a lot of people say it took months after going off it to get preggers, and I know someone who forgot to take it a few times in a month and got preggers... go figure

I have to say for some strange reason my period came back 2 months in a row when it should, and its so light and no headaches!! exactly why I went off, and it worked, but I do know the Dr. said it could take awhile for it to be normal again.

Like some of the other girls sais, it really differs. The first time I got off my period came late and then lasted for over 2 weeks. A few years later when I got off again, it was normal but I had tons of cramping.

everyone is different there will be those women that sometimes get preggo even while ON the pill, and others that take some time to get back to their "normal" track. i wouldn't worry much. if you've been on it for a long time, it will probably take your body some adjusting time
