Useful info
A lady I know told me to number the back of my response cards when sending out invitations because sometimes people send them back without writing there name on the cards, just a response. My FH did this so I guess there is one in every bunch.

Re: Useful info
I did this as well...I've already gotten a handful where ppl didn't put their names on it. The numbers in the back of the response cards were of great help!

Re: Useful info
2 better ways to do this so that no one sees the number.
First you can use an invisible ink pen that only shows up when you shine the special light on it. This one I found to be real cheap.
Invisible Ink Pen .
OR
You can put the number under the stamp of the RSVP envelop. No one will notice it and if someone forgets to put their name down, you can see the number from the inside of the envelope.
Hope this helps

Re: Useful info
I wouldn't write the number on the card. I would get response cards without the number only the people on the invite are invited. Don't give the opportunity for them to add anyone.
The number on the back of the response card should match a number next to their name on your guest list incase they forget to put their name on the front, you can identify them by the number on the back.
First example is a DO Second is a DON'T
Guest will only write who is attending Ms. Sally Jones OR Ms. Sally Jones & Guest OR Mr. & Mrs. John Jones

Re: Useful info
We did that too...it came in handy because there were a handful of people who left out their name. And there were a few people who had the same name so it helped us figure out those people too.

Re: Useful info
Great idea! Funny story: FH aunt sent her RSVP with 4 people (um only three were invited). So I had to call to see who "THEY" invited. It turns out his cousin who is 18 is now engaged to her Boyfriend of 6 months (he is a senior in high school and she is a freshman at Marist). Well since she is only 18 she didn't get "And Guest" even though she has a boyfriend. Well now that they are getting married (which is crazy don't get me started) they thought he would be able to come. Well yes he can but I almost died when I saw 4 and not 3.

Re: Useful info
I did this- but everyone wrote their names on it. But I still think it is worth it. It took 15 minutes or so and just in case one person forgets, it is worth it!

Re: Useful info
we wrote the # on the back and actually didn't have anyone not write their name... I think that's because we wrote the #... had we not done that we prob would have had 10 no named responses... just the way the world works, right?

Re: Useful info
its also useful if people have duplicate names.... if your family has lots of people with the same last name, they may forget to put their first name etc
ex:
Mr. & Mrs. Lastname
well, which ones?
