what other colors to use with DEEP PURPLE?

I'm set on having a dark, rich purple as my BM's dresses. I want them to carry picasso callas.

I will probably also use dark purple orchids in the centerpieces. Linens will be white or ivory.

i dont want to go overkill with the purple. What other colors should I use? I was thinking about using sage green ribbon on my cake, or sage green and white in the church flowers and anywhere else I can think of.

Do you think this would look ok? I tried to explain it to my FSIL and she made a face, and said, "I don't get it."

ETA: My wedding is in October. I'd love to use fall colors but I'm not sure if bronze, dark red or burgundy would go with the purple. I'm not big on gold, i'd rather use silver. but i can't really have silver flowers hahaa.

Adding some green with the rich purple would look great. check out vinenyc website for some ideas. This is the florist I am using..

I think a light green, silver, and ivory would be good with deep purple.....you could always loop in pink but might be too girly

My BM dresses are actually deep purple and im doing mauve and some pink not too much pink..and cherry blossom centerpieces wtih gold accents hopefully lol haven't gone to the florist yet. heres my BM dress in the exact color....

My BM dresses are going to be bill levkoffs euro eggplant (which is a deep purple) my flowers are going to be pink, blue, purple and white

those are my colors too!! We used Aubergine Purple (deep purple) I added some almost lime green, a bit subtler to the flowers along with creams. The other colors we are usig are Silver, Black and White.

I used all shades of pinks and purples.

Love the idea of sage or a green with the purple...try and stay away from another dark color...a light color like sage will compliment the purple so well.

I love the color purple but was afraid of the same thing- I ended up using silver and cream and light pink to accent the BM/MoH dresses and lavender, cream, pink in the centerpieces and flowers.

I think with the deep purple however, I'd use silver, a light green, and cream to lighten it up.

My wedding is in Oct as well and my girls are wearing purple- victorian amethyst- they are carrying fall colors for flowers- some deep reds, oranges with yellow - i held the flowers next to the swatch and it looked beautful. very deep and classy looking. we will probably add a touch of purple in the bouquets to really bring it together.

I love green with purple also you can look at whites or lighter shades of purple. or even hot pink.

My bridesmaid dresses were purple, and my girls carried yellow roses. I love the yellow and purple color combo

Yes on the fall colors. Gold too. I love dark purple and a bronze or gold.

I would have to agree....green is definitely the best color to use with the deep purple....I would also say that adding in some accents of orange or yellow will really brighten it up....

Since you are getting married in the fall, those colors would be perfect. GOOD LUCK!!

You can't go wrong with cream or white!!! And I think adding the green like you had said will look pretty!

I also think yello could look really cool if done right! Like a golden yellow...
