I need your help

Let's face facts. I'm fat.
I need to go on a diet. I need to exercise more.
I'm starting a new job on Monday. Work hours are 8-5. the gym route didn't work for me.
Help me please.

Any suggestions?

also... you'll find a HUGE difference if you start walking to places you normally wouldn't... or taking the stairs instead of the elevator/escalator etc etc...Give yourself like 20 minutes extra physical activity a day, I'm telling you it will make a difference

Re: I need your help

I did WW twice. The first time with no exercise I lost about 25 lbs... The second time going to the gym 5 days a week I lost NOTHING. Yes I gained muscle but I have that to begin with.
I'm just getting frustrated.

Why couldn't I just be blessed and not have to worry lol

Re: I need your help

It is a very hard diet. I am on it currently. But it works.

It consisits of No or low Carbs.
Celery day all day once a week nothing ELSE!
Mostly protein.
and YES you can Drink but it has to be all clear like white wine and or clear liquors.
No sugar.
Egg whites . tons of cheese , salad and greens.

10lbs easy less than 1 month.

Oh and .. FORGET THE GYM.. I am sure I will hear it from workout gewrooe's but that is not a good way to loose weight. It WON'T work!

It is really good to stay strong and healthy

You only need 1 hour of walking aday or 45 if not 35 min.

all info i got from a Nutritionist for lots of money and now my info to you is all for free

It is really about a lifestyle and changing your ways and eating less. Portion control.

True that!
wine snob here

Ca - I will tell you this , if you can give up bread 1 month you won't crave it anymore. Trust me ..I know it sounds crazy, but your body just does not care about it anymore along with pasta.

You need to detox first though.

and I might ADD it is the WORST Effin FEELING in the world!!!! Shaking and whatnot -but it does give the end reslut if you hang in there. Promise

Re: I need your help

I dieted for years starting in HS thru my early 20's...and refuse to "diet" ever again...i was extremely thin and obsessed with my weight & what I ate...or in this case not eating.....

the best thing that works for me now is to exercise regularly...find an activity you enjoy that you will want to do several times a week like yoga, kickboxing or pilates or just walking..for me it is Tae Kwon Do...

also try not to change your whole lifestyle at once....maybe just change what you eat for breakfast for starters...or cut back on sugary drinks...allow yourself your cravings...if not you will eat 12,000 other things instead...and still want your craved food...when i want a Big Mac & fries I go get one...

light weight training is also best to help build muscle & burn fat...for me this works better than tons of cardio...your body may be different.

Also that show on TLC had interesting concepts you might want to check out...it was "I can make you thin"

I Can Make You Thin Website...

...the most important thing is to love yourself...realize your self worth doesn't equate to what the scale says...this was my hardest obstacle to overcome! Good luck!

Re: I need your help

I would say portion control and try to limit your carbs.. my sister is doing a carb free diet and within 2 weeks has already lost about 6-7lbs..

oh, I know... DH & I went through a full detox (master cleanse) and it was difficult... and that was only for a week.

I don't wanna give up bread... [whimper]

Re: I need your help

i'm in the same boat as you right now.

I'm eating portioned, more balanced meals - for example, tonight's dinner was a small chicken breast, stringbeans, and 1/2 cup of brown rice. (as opposed to a slice of pizza or something oozing goodness like that)

and I bought a treadmill on craigslist...and put it in my bedroom so I see it when I wake up in the morning. DH leaves for work 1 hour before I do, so I've been getting up when he leaves and taking 30 minutes on the treadmill, 30 minutes left to shower and dress..... then I hit the treadmill again at night for 30-60 minutes, depending on how I feel. I have pretty bad allergies, so walking/jogging outside is not a possibility for me at this time of year.

I know a Total hijack oops.
You said you hate the celery idea soo I am out of advise. Today was Celery day. Thankfully it is over. Truthfully it is just a way to detox your body and yet still maintain some balance to not want to kill yourself allday long.

Girls you need to cut out the carbs go to small portions - than you can later start to add all your fav foods back as long as it is all in moderation.
Just don't go back to bad habits.

Re: I need your help

Since Im a dancer I have been on a "diet" since I was 13 What I found that works is this....but you have to commit and do it at least 3 weeks.
Eat lots of small meals
midday snack would be a handfull of Almonds or something like that .
Carbs are totally fine to eat if you are active. In fact they are best if you go to the gym and excersise because they burn quick.
I try not to eat carbs for dinner though. Usually Fish and a Veg or Chicken and a Veg.
Not exciting food BUT it works.
As for the gym I agree with Gemmifer walking for 1/2 hr 45 mins is pretty much all you need BUT I like to tone up too. Anyway I think different things work for different people so you just need to find what's best for you. They key is to find something that can stay with you, so you wont gain the weight back after you go off the "diet"
HTH
