question about my new last name.....
hey ladies!!
so i know i have to wait to get the marriage certificate in the mail to start changing my last name on stuff - which we havent gotten yet... only got married this past saturday -- how long should it take??
also - can i start calling myself by my new last name?? is my name technically DH's name even though i havent changed it on anything?? i get so confused now when people ask me my name like if i'm ordering stuff or filling things out online!!

they say a few weeks for the marriage cert to get to you but ours took about a week.
order away wiht your new last name. As long as when you put your billing info in it matches your CC or bank acct you are paying with.

Yes or what I do (since I haven't changed one bank account I have just yet) is do the billing info with my old last name and then shipping to me with my new last name.
It should take a few weeks to get your marriage certificate- DH and I had ours in about a week right when we got back from the HM it was sitting in our mailbox

My marriage certificate came yesterday, and I think it was mailed out a couple of days after the wedding, so it took about a week

They say about 2-3 weeks to get your actual certificate. I used DHs last name from the day we got married on even if I hadnt changed it yet-but signed my maiden name on the legal stuff

Legally you can use any name you want as long as you are not using it in an attempt to defraud.
We got our license back by the time we got home from our honeymoon so 10 days later but it really depends on how quickly your officiant sends it to the office.

I used my new last name immediately.
Our marriage certificate came in about 2 weeks after the wedding. It all depends on how fast your officiant sends it and how fast it is processed.
