Veil Prices

Did I overpay for my veil? I got it at Barron's but it was $145

It was elbow length with scalloped edges and beading. . .I just didn't realize how expensive they are. It was two tier also. . .

Did anyone try talking down the prices at Barron's? I'm having buyer's remorse

Re: Veil Prices

I don't think you overpaid ! your veil in a bridal store would have been double the price. mine was 200, but it was a two layer ( with pearl beading and a lace boarder)

Re: Veil Prices

My veil is from David's Bridal. It cost $135 w/ 15% off. It is elbow length, 2 tiers has champagne satin trim and swarovski crystals on it. I thought it was too much money but my mom sqaid to get it because my dress was inexpensive.

Re: Veil Prices

i think it totally depends on the veil.. Mine is cathedral length and is just simple scalloped with rhinestones..and it was right about 150... but the one i originally wanted and LOVED was 300 (both at barron's) so you probably got a good deal..the detail of the veil, layers..etc. etc.. makes all the difference in price sometimes..and i agree that a bridal store would probably have charged even more!!!

Re: Veil Prices

I do not understand why veil prices are so high. I refuse to pay over $50 for mine. I honestly don't think $145 is a good price - just my feeling. I'm sure it's beautiful, but it's just a lot of money to me.

I kept going back and forth but finally my mom was like JUST GET IT.

I liked it and I'm sure thats all that matters, I just didnt realize what they cost. I think I figured they were like $150 in bridal shops and more like $50-$60 at Barron's.

Oh well

Thanks ladies - you all made me feel a little better.

Re: Veil Prices

i paid nearly double for mine at a bridal shop. i wish i had shopped around more, but they got me in my dress, and created the entire picture, so i bought everything right away.

some bridal shops charge very high prices. When i bought my dress, the veils they had me try on at kleinfelds with the dress were $1800 ...i ended up going to this little shop in the village and bought a veil. Its two pieces, one is a 3 yard cathedral length veil with satin edge, the other is elbow length with satin edge and i paid $300 for both pieces together

I hope I didn't make you feel BAD. Compared to bridal shops, it is a great price and you are right, if you love it, that's all that matters. My mind is just in uber-saving-mode with all these crazy prices so I am on the hunt for savings everywhere. And I just don't know why veils are so much money.

If you love it, forget about the price!

Re: Veil Prices

I think it's a pretty standard price. Veils are not necessarily cheap. Price depends on so many factors, details/length/handmade or not, etc. You got a good deal I think. Mine was $350 at Barrons. It was 3 yds (108 in.) cathedral length mantilla with alencon lace all around. With mine it was that particular type of lace that made it that price but that was the lace that was on my dress and that was what I wanted so, not that the price didn't matter, but it was what I wanted so I paid it and I never looked back because I loved it. Don't fret about it, as long as you love it that's what matters.
