Regular strapless bra vs long line??
I tried on a long line bra with my dress when I bought it, and I felt it was very constricting and uncomfortable. I am thinking of getting a strapless regular one instead. Does it matter? Is there a reason they have you wear the long line ones at the stores? I don't have much to really "suck in" so I don't think I need it for that purpose.
Also - a related question - anyone buy the convertible push up bra from Victoria's Secret? It's on sale through their catalog now for $33 and I was thinking of getting it for the wedding. I figure if I don't like it with my dress, I can use it for other things. However, I'm concerned the push up effect will be too much - I don't want the falling-out-of-my-dress look (not sure if I have enough for that anyhow). Anyone with a smallish bust (34B-C) have one of these???

Re: Regular strapless bra vs long line??
i think the longline is if you need sucking in & the VS bra is AMAZING- now that I know its on sale- I'm buying another one- I literally washed the heck out of it- I wore it almost everyday in the summer it worked with everything

Re: Regular strapless bra vs long line??
I wore a pretty normal strapless bra....it was slightly longer than a standard one, but did not cover my whole torso at all. I didn't really need to suck in anything either, just hold up my boobs and it was fine.

Is this the one you liked? They have a few strapless convertibles it seems!
Angels Strapless Pushup Convertible
And for a wedding ... would I get white or nude? Nude would be good for every other time I wear it, and it might match my skin tone better and be ok for a wedding ... but is white better??

I will either wear a strapless or have cups sewn in - I do need something I think though - I have a smallish chest but it still needs some support, I think, if I am going to be dancing around, etc. Cups sewn into the dress would work for this I think.

Re: Regular strapless bra vs long line??
The long line bra will smooth your out under your dress... won't really do any sucking in, but it will create a smooth line under your dress... I find that it provides more support as well. If you're feeling contricted, you're probably wearing the wrong size.
The VS convertable bra I don't think is that great... I'm bigger on top (in the Ds) and the convertable bra doesn't really do much.

Re: Regular strapless bra vs long line??
I have experience working in a lingerie shop. Nude was always a first choice. Nude will mesh better with your skin tone than a white garment will. If you are more comfortable in a regular strapless bra, then go with that over the long line. Besides, you'll get more use out of it in the long run.

See I thought the nude also but the results of my poll say different!! White will be noticable if the dress is out of place..nude wouldn't be right?
Now Im confused!!!

Yes, sorry! The secret embrace that you linked to...i wore the regular secret embrace (not strapless) until the straps broke...they have special washing instructions because of the material but i never listened and that's what happened...by far the most comfortable push bra ever!

Re: Regular strapless bra vs long line??
i thought i could wear a regular bra but my dress has a low back so I bought a long line (I guess that's what it is at bloomies - I don't think it ***** anything in but it did come with clear straps which are great; at my fitting last weekend we decided to also sew cups into the dress because it looked better and gave it more shape, even with a bra.
i borrowed my friends convertible and i'm a 34B - I found it pretty comfy and definitely not too push up.

I think I will buy nude. I have a nude bra that I bought at Macy's in January and I wear it with everything. So I think that even if I can't wear it on my wedding day, I'll get use out of it. And if I love the bra and like the way it fits under my dress, I will buy another one in white!

oooh I didn't think about how low the back is! I don't think mine is terribly low, but I should check. Thanks!

yeah definitely check because i was so excited that my dress isn't strapless so I thought any regular good bra would do... that's why I went with this one and honestly I hate these types of bras but the one I got is Vera Wang and it was $$$ but it's very comfortable.
