FH is FURIOUS!!!
So FH finally goes to pick the tuxes today... Gets that done...tonight he was calling his guys and letting them know where to go to get measurements done..... In doing this one of his guys says oh dude I can't be in the wedding, matter of fact I cant even come.... The guy gives FH some lame excuse about no one to watch his cats while he is gone (lives in Chicago with his parents). Now FH has to use his "fall back" guy he had in mind who is his BIL and someone he doesnt even really like.... He is SOOOO Furious right now....

I dont know if I should say I'm Sorry or Congrats... At least it worked out so that is good for you!!
At this point all I keep hearing from FH is 'I'm so pissed"! as he stalks back and forth... I keep telling him it will be fine we already had one BM back out and well her and I are not friends anymore..

What is it with guys? That happened to us too! One of FH's good friends, who he has been friends with since high school, did the same exact thing. He's not even coming to the wedding either. He gave some lame excuse about having some meeting for work in Michigan. Umm i'm sorry you knew about the wedding for over a year now. And you wait until last week to tell us? Are you kidding me?
I just don't understand people...

I just don't understand people...
This was the guy we were SURE would not back out, the ones we were worried about was the BM and his son (who is a GM) they live in Alberta, Canada so we were worried about them making the trip getting off work for a week etc... The guys in Canada confirmed everything today went and did the measurements they needed called everything in. I really don't know whats wrong with people either but FH is sooo upset the guy that did this is one of his oldest friends.

he doesnt have to use a back up guy just to use somebody.
Many bp are uneven now and its no big deal at all. Fh has more guys than i have girls and i wasnt about to ask ppl just to ask them ya know.

It's just goes to show who your true friends are. Tell him don't let it get to him. If he doesn't like his BIL then don't use him either. Have 2 BM walk with on GM.

That's so inconsiderate....OK life has a way of throwing curveballs at us, which forces change however, had you FH not call, when was he expecting to let you guys know that he can no longer be a part of your wedding. That was very inconsiderate on his part. But anyway, don't let this stress you much, as everything happens for a reason.

No one to watch his cats???  wow, that is a lame excuse to bail out of a friend's wedding... i am an animal lover, but cats are so independent, you could have anyone just check on it once a day - not like a dog that needs multiple walks per day and much more attention... (ETS: just saw this friend lives with his parents.... and claimed no one to watch his cats... um hello, how about your parents who live in the same house?)
... maybe something else is going on or he's just inconsiderate! your FH is rightfully furious!
