Help! Possible big mistake on invites! In a PANIC!

So I was proofing one of the girl's invites from a previous post and joking about how I didn't use a number, I simply said NOON. Well, um, I think my ceremony starts at 11:30!!!! I am drawing a blank and I found a freakin' draft of my invite in word and it says 11:30 - which I'm thinking was a time I got from the catering hall over the phone a few weeks before I ordered them.

Then at the time I orderd my invitations, I may have been thinking about the time the cocktail hour starts or something.

We're getting married at the Riviera - ceremony AND reception.

I can't afford to order new invitations, what do I do? I can't reach anyone at the hall (for some reason, I never can, I must totally call at the worst times).

If any of you have been to ceremonies there or are getting married there or have any advice, a freakin' post-it saying "we goofed" - like what the heck do I do now? We have time, it's not until November, but all new invites, we got them online

I know on one of the bridal TV shows the couple sent their RSVP envelopes w/out postage and sent everyone a cute poem, any ideas? I know there's a tiny chance I'm in a panic for nothing. I just don't know what to do.

There has to be a solution. I'm too humiliated to tell any of my family and friends and am sitting here in a sudden panic.

Re: Help! Possible big mistake on invites! In a PANIC!

Don't panic yet, wait until you can get in touch with your RH hall.

Now I don't think I'm understand correctly, did you write in your invites 12:00, but its really at 11:30? .. If thats the case don't worry, I'm sure the RH will be able to accomodate that, and if not, thats when you can start to think about how to tell your guests, maybe a cute poem or something.

Re: Help! Possible big mistake on invites! In a PANIC!

I totally screwed up my engagement party invites - I put the wrong address!!!

I sent a letter to everyone saying I had bride-brain and gave them the new address. Then I posted my brother at the wrong location the day of in case anyone didn't get the letter. It worked out fine.

I would enclose a note card stating the correct time.

Stuff like this happens, what can ya do? If it turns out you did put the wrong time - laugh it off. It is kind of funny. There's nothing you can do about it so don't get yourself crazy and upset. It's going to be fine!!!

Re: Help! Possible big mistake on invites! In a PANIC!

first make sure your ceremony starts at 12 before you totally panic. next maybe you can print up a cute note to put in with the invitation? i know exactly what you're talking about with the girl who had to send another note around with postage!
i'm sure everything will work out!

Re: Help! Possible big mistake on invites! In a PANIC!

Thank you girls!

Yes, I basically said 12 when I'm thinking it's 11:30. Reason I don't think they can adjust that is because the weddings are like back-to back and I just read a post from a Riviera bride who is having her ceremony at 6 and that would most likely mean that mine would be like at 11:30 I think. I guess the fact that I found it typed in an old version of the invites as 11:30 is what is freaking me out. Figures this has to happen on Mother's Day weekend, they are probably closed tomorrow and I won't know until like Tuesday

I can totally just put a note in, but you know how you want everything perfect. I'm such a dumb-a s s... So many details, it's not easy!

Wow, at least it broke BEFORE the wedding!!! I just feel like how could I have messed this up? Well, maybe if I'm lucky someone getting married in the afternoon there will see this and FM me or something. Ha ha, too bad I'm not buddies w/the 11.8.08 NIGHT wedding girl, I could beg her to push it up 30 minutes. Ha ha!

I would check to see what time the ceremony starts first before you set into full panic mode! If it's really 11:30 then see if you can move it to 12!!!

My girlfriend is getting married at the riviera in august. Her ceremony is noon...but they told her to put 11:30 on her invites so everyone was there on time. Perhaps you were right and noon is actually when it starts. I'm sure it'll work out...don't panic!!

I am getting married at the Riviera in September on a Sunday. My ceremony starts at 11:30. If that is the case with yours, I would send a cute poem telling people the correct time.

Re: Help! Possible big mistake on invites! In a PANIC!

if you do decide you want to have them reprinted, you would only need the invitation & not the other parts printed.

also, you might be able to get a small discount from the online company you ordered from. it can't hurt to ask them, right? especially since you have time until you need to mail them.

i JUST got home from a wedding there... and the invites said 1130am and the ceremony was at noon... they have a welcoming wagon, and that starts at 1130 until noon!!

we had to leave by 500 bc another wedding was coming in as we were in the parking lot... her wedding i think started at 6pm.

i think u hav e NO worries.

Re: Help! Possible big mistake on invites! In a PANIC!

you should be able to get in touch with your hall immediately- no excuse for them to always not be available when you try. also, u mention mothers day- i know two weddings going on tomorrow ( not rivera but tomorrow) so they are likely open too. call first thing tomorrow-double check and then figure it out. u can probably move it to 12 if its not but then you will loose a 1/2 hour from reception since there is a bride in the evening.

Re: Help! Possible big mistake on invites! In a PANIC!

Again - thank you to all the girls giving me the Riviera times. I feel like such an dumb a s s. I can't believe I blanked out like that.

The reason I can't have the actual invites reprinted, which I swear would probably only cost $50 (the entire set of 100 was dirt cheap!) is because it's from David's Bridal and they don't do things that way. They sell everything as a set. Other than including the "i'm a dumb-a-s-s- poem" ... I'm thinking I might be able to find a printer in my area or an invite store who can match our invites. They are seriously, simple off-white card stock with plain brown ink which I was hole punching and putting a ribbon through, the only thing that could be a problem is the size of the invite, like matching it because it's one of those pocket folder type thingies....

I'm going to try calling them again tomorrow. But based on the 11:30 welcome wagon people are talking about, I think that might have been it. UGH! I'm kicking myself right now wishing some other bride would share stories of mistakes they've made. ha ha!

Re: Help! Possible big mistake on invites! In a PANIC!

Aww dont worry about it! Just put a note in saying "The ceremony time has been changed to 11:30am".

If anyone asks make up a story and it was the hall's fault. Or just say, you wanted to leave more time to party. Honestly no one will even ask. Maybe a few close friends or family.

PS - If I received an invite with a revised time I wouldnt really think about it...would just say oh they changed their time...must be a wedding booked after theres

Re: Help! Possible big mistake on invites! In a PANIC!

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh I thought of another good idea! What is the brand of your invites? I am sure Davids Bridal outsources right?

OK reason I am asking is because you can contact the company directly and order new invites "al la carte". I did this to order more envelopes because I was not buying 30 more sets just to get a few extra envelopes!!!!

Re: Help! Possible big mistake on invites! In a PANIC!

Ok one more thing....I made a goof on our STD! I put June 21, 2007. (Instead of 2008) WOW big problem!!!!

So i called shutterfly and complained that the font was too small and it was hard to read and they gave me credit to reorder them and they even overnighted them! LOL!

Re: Help! Possible big mistake on invites! In a PANIC!

Girl, you are too funny!
I am alreay thinking about how i can contact a local printer or something like that or David's printing people, etc.

Another thing that's annoying w/these invites is the error is on an odd shaped like 5.5x7 inch card stock, but it's such a plain and simple invite, like anyone could probably do it for us, but matching the ink and font could be a challenge!

Re: Help! Possible big mistake on invites! In a PANIC!

I hope you're right, but we do have people coming mostly from out of state, so maybe we can either put a little note in there or reprint them ... I think it is 11:30 because I remember saying "how the hell is everyone going to get up so early" and that's when they said they could possibly try to get the next wedding to start 30 minutes later, but I doubt that ever happened because I didn't hound them about it.

Re: Help! Possible big mistake on invites! In a PANIC!

I had the EXACT SAME situation happen to me, but at least you have only a half hour difference! Mine was a whole hour!! I also did not want to get new invites printed bc mine were from overseas and i really liked them. Also i didnt have the time to reprint!!!
so i went to a minuteman press and got a little cute poem on note cards printed. They matched it the best they could with my original invites, and they came out great! :) We still had to just tell people over the phone to remind them. Now im hoping no one gets there at the wrong time
