Quick check-in
Hey ladies. Yesterday I was doing pretty well -- almost making peace with the idea that DH will be gone for the next 2 months. My mom and grandparents have been a big help and being here in Florida (away from my empty apartment) has also helped.
But last night I got a call from another wife -- she told me that another one of the guys that we know was sent home. He got home at 7pm and was heading to dinner with his wife. In one way it made me feel good to know that they are still sending guys home (so maybe my DH still has a chance to come home), but in another way it made me mad that I'm one of the last wives in our group to still be without my hubby. Even though its GOOD that he's still there and hasnt failed out...I feel like the other wives got their husbands back and mine's still gone.
I got a letter from him yesterday too -- it was dated May 5th...so its hard to say whats happened since then. But he said he passed the PT Test by 30 seconds, but he was delirious when he finished -- they took his temperature and it was 106.1 degrees. YES YOU HEARD ME RIGHT....106.1 They were going to send him home as a heat casualty, but somehow he convinced them to let him stay. Everyone I've spoken to (all his buddies from training) has said that he should have come home and its so so so dangerous for him to have stayed after that. I'm so mad at him in some ways. He pushes himself too hard and he doesnt know his own limits. I'm just hoping something like that doesnt happen again 
I also want to thank you girls for your encouragement and support thus far -- posting these little updates is a way for me to vent and really, its been helping more than you all know!

You sound like you're doing a little better, so I'm really glad for that. Try to think of it this way - if he gets through this now, it means he won't have to leave again int he future for it. I'm sure thinking of coming home to you is what's keeping him strong and getting him through it.

On a separate note, 106.1??????????? Isn't that above the dangerous zone?
yes ma'am it is. My cousin is a nurse and he said that at 104 you can get brain damage  My husband is an idiot...and the cadre there are even bigger idiots for not sending him straight to the hospital.

How is he now??
I have no CURRENT info. But in the letter, he said "I'm fine now =)" Its been 4 days since he wrote that letter, so I can only hope that he hasnt sustained any new injuries or had any effects from the heat injury. But chris gets injured constantly and isnt one to let himself heal. He pushes himself too far. The doctor actually told him before Ranger School not to go until his ankle healed. As you can tell....he doesnt follow directions well
