We use the building's coin operated laundromat and do:

Darks (on cold)
Colors (on cold)
Reds (on cold)
Whites (on hot)
Towels and bedding (on warm/cold)

Washing with cold water helps prevent colors from fading, so we go for cold for most of our clothes.

Then we dry everything in the dryers except my bras, work pants, work shirts, or DH's uniforms, which we take upstairs and hang dry.

I hate laundry day. Thankfully DH does most of it now!!!

darks together in cold (90% of FH's)
colors together in cold (95% are mine)
whites together in Hot water, bleach and lots of soap
towels in cold water, no softener
sheets in warm water,
sweaters on gentile with woollite


yes i'm doing laundry for HOURS one day a week at FMIL's

I separate some of it.....like fleeces and sweatshirts all go in together, all pants go in together.....whites are separate. maybe its just how I feel the day I do it
