First time looking for a bridal gown

ok, i am going to look for a dress for the very first time!!! any ideas on where is the best place to go when you dont really know what you want (all i know is that i want something kinda pouffy)?? do i need certain ideas? im clueless!!!

Im on Long Island, but i dont have anything against traveling to NYC to look for a dress :) ill go where ever i have to go :)

If you go to a salon and you describe what you want they will pull out dresses and you say yes or no-- and they will work off of what you say yes too. If you have pictures definitely bring them.

THE BAYSHORE BRIDAL SUITE IS WHERE I WENT.....THEY HAVE MOST OF THE DESIGNERS....THEY JUST MOVED INTO A NEW SHOP AND THEY ARE VERY FRIENDLY PEOPLE THERE...ITS IN BAYSHORE ON MAIN ST.

Bring as many pice as you want but don't have a closed mind...The original dress i wanted looked horrible. I say try a few places...If you like to be catered to, go to places like bridal reflections...I went there...I had a great experience. Try on all different styles...A line, ball, tulle, etc and narrow it down to the style you like best then look at gowns in that category.

you can try Wedding Salon of Manhasset--beautiful gowns & a very helpful staff....(that is where i ordered my gown)

Bridal Reflections in Carle Place...

(those are the only 2 that i went to in Long Island)

you can also try Kleinfeld's in Brooklyn...

RK Bridal in NYC...

These were the places that I went to on Long Island- Bridal reflections Massapequa,
The wedding Salon in Manhasset, MAcy's Bridal in Manhasset, Bonaventure in Garden City,
Adrienne's in East Islip,

They all had nice stuff but I ultimately found my dress at Kleinfeld's in Brooklyn.

The first time I went, I wanted a HUGE selection because I really didn't know what type or style I wanted - so my advice would be Davids Bridal - they have all th sizes there and lots of styles, just so you can get ideas on what you like - then take it from there if you don't want to purchase from them. i used Brial Suite of Centereach and they are awesome!!! note, they are different from Bridal Suite of Patchogue!!! Good luck!
