Set a date. FINALLY!
Well, its official. May 14th 2004. Now the ball starts rolling with all the planning. I am excited and a little overwhelmed. I just got off the phone with a band. $6,000. Is he crazy???

I guess this isn't bad then. It is 8-9 people. They are called the 70's Experience. They play their own style of music. You get a DJ and and MC to play any other music you might want. That is for cocktail hour and reception. I thought I would get a break because the lead singer is my brothers friend from high school. But now the have a manager, so there goes the band. I guess I will go with a DJ. Any Suggestions would be helpful. Thank You.

Bands can be very expensive. I have a 9 piece band and I am paying $6900 for the reception but they are giving me a musician for the cocktail hour.
DJs are cheaper. It all depends on what you like.

There are a number of good bands out there that are excellent who are under 6,000. I have an extensive music background and so I was very picky about how they sounded and many bands just were off key or something.
Check out the band we are using a couple girls on here used them also - Times Square Orchestra - they are great and under 6,000.
Also Full House had great energy and we saw them play at a new years eve party a few years back and they had everyone dancing all night.
I actually found that some bands who were charging a lot more were actually not nearly as good.
