Can MOB wear black??

my mom found this great that she looks AWESOME in. she usually is so stuffy, but she still has a great figure. the only problem, it is black. she didn't even want to try it on, but the woman at the store made her, and now she is hooked b/c she looks so good in it.

my wedding is on a Sunday in April starting at 3 (still light out). i wouldn't really have a problem if it was a Sat night, but on Sunday day?? Can she wear black? will my italian relatives think she is in mourning ??

I think black is very universal day or night winter spring summer or fall it is very dressy & elegant i say go for it.

My friends mom, wore a beautiful black beaded dress to her wedding that was during the day. She looked wonderful, no one felt she was in morning, and her family is all italian. If that dress is what she likes, and it looks good on her, I say go for it!

thanks for the support ladies. she's gonna love hearing those. i really want her to feel and look good. plus - she looks HOT in this dress! i just don't want her to worry about what people will think then again, it's not like we are being totally traditional anyway, so who cares what they think. Right!?

all my bridesmaids wore black, I loved it! (My brother was my man of honor, his sister was his "best woman" and she wore the same dress).

My FMIL is wearing a balck lace overlay over a tan dress-it looks so elegant, go for it!

Mine is wearing black too, although originally she was against it also, she fell in love with the dress and that was that. As long as you and your mother love it, I think that is all that matters.

Both my mom and MIL wore black when my sister got married - and that was 12 years ago! I wouldn't worry about it at all.

Both mothers wore black at my brother's wedding. It looked very nice, but it was a black and white wedding - the whole BP was in black. I don't know if that matters, but black is the "in" color now and I think it's fine if MOB wears black.

I have seen MOB wearing black no matter the time, the season or nationality ... it is always classy!

I think Black is always classy and always looks great! Don't fight it, go with it. I think I'm putting my bridesmaids in black to!!!!!!!
