does anyone own a Neptune washer/dryer?
Wierd topic I know..
Washer/dryer combo dies about 5 days after Julianne came home...talk about stress
So we bit the bullet and bought a Neptune stackable. Our research shows that in the long run, your save money on this duo since you use much less water and much less detergent. Costs only $12 a year in electricity to run it.
my ? is...I use liquid detergent..(they suggest powder) and they have you pour it directly on top of the clothes. Now, it is obvious that I cannot start the wash then pour in the detergent and then the clothes, since all the water would come pouring out of this front loading washer....BUT can you use the Tide "kicker" in there? (it is a plastic thingy that you pour the detergent into and then toss it into the wash)..
ALSO- has anyone seen/bought the special verision of Tide that is for frontloaders? where did u buy it and how much did it cost?
Thanks for the feedback!

Re: does anyone own a Neptune washer/dryer?
Hiya Phyl. I have a Bosch frontloader, and I use the Tide HE in my washer. I bought it at my local supermarket (but I live in Boston, so that may not be so helpful to you!) and it was $7.99 for 5 lbs.
They also make a HE liquid:
If you go to this page, you can enter your zip code to find the places closest to you that sell it: http://www.tide.com/products/tide.jhtml?productId=85
Sorry I don't know more about the Neptune!

Re: does anyone own a Neptune washer/dryer?
We are looking in to purchasing one not necessarily that brand but a stackable or a 2 in one. Can you share a link where I can find out more about this?? Thanks

We really want the 2 in one washer/dryer also because we don't have room for a stackable.

Re: shamma
For those of you short on space, let me know if you are considering condensor dryers -- thats what mine is. I live in a condo (2nd floor of 4 floors) that was built in 1916, and there was no way to vent a dryer. So I got a "condensor" dryer which doesn't need to have an outside vent. My washer and dryer are the size of a dishwasher, and are both fit under a counter in my kitchen. Both are front loading, and they can be stacked.
Another message board for good advice on washers and dryers is:

Thanks Valenia, I will definitely look into this. Living in the city or in an apt is definitely a space lover's nightmare

Wow, Im so happy to see this topic, and that other people have heard of the combo washer/dryer. We JUST got ours delivered on Saturday. We got a EQUATOR EZ-3612-CEE Clothes-Processor from J&R, it was a GREAT PRICE!
