My labor day weekend 2007 wedding! St. Edwards Church and Sans Souci of Sea Cliff Reception. Amsale Dress, Glenmar Photography and MORE
Ok so I've been meaning to do this review for a while. I'm a "get right to it" person, so let's get down to business! I'll try to go in order and post pics for descriptions. I will write as much as I can but I think the pictures should be worth more than a thousand words. If anyone has any questions I'm totally happy to answer and help! This website was so helpful to me while I was planning I can only try to pass it forward!
Got ready at my Mother in Law to be's house, she is amazing and let me take over the entire place! My best friend and bridesmaid did my hair. I recommend her highly but she lives out of town! (Sorry)!!
Makeup was done by a good friend's mother who used to do make up at Saks and did a lot of bride's in her time and we brought her out for another round just for me : ) All of my make up was Bobbi Brown
Here's the close up
The Photographer arrived right as I was putting on my dress (perfect timing). We used Glenmar Studios in Roslyn. John was our photographer and he was amazing. He makes a lot of corny jokes but took the most amazing, magazine like, pictures (all the ones you see in this topic). Here's me getting into the dress and shoes!
  
My dress was Amsale. I bought it at the Amsale Boutique on Madison Avenue in Manhattan. It was a great experience, everything was done on time and exactly to my liking. They weren't snobby at all and I'm still just completely in love with my dress! Here are some of my favorite pics with the dress of my dreams!
     
My shoes were Stuart Weitzman, 4 inch heels baby! I got those at the SW boutique right under the Amsale Boutique and had them dyed from white to ivory at a local place where I lived.
My bridesmaid dresses were Watters and Watters in Rose Quartz with Ivory trim. The reason I liked them is because they were simple, satin (like my dress), and had covered buttons going all the way down the dress (which matched my dress too!). I got them through Priscilla of Boston in Roslyn.
  
The Ceremony was at St. Edwards Church in Syosset. It was beautiful. My husband has been attending this church since he was a child. Pre Cana was easy and actually a lot of fun, and they took care of everything with the ceremony. It was so light and airy in there, I hardly needed to decorate at all.
   
PS The Veil is lace mantilla and it was custom made at an amazingly good price by the people at My Daughter's Wedding in Manhasset. I love them!!
The Photographer then took us to some places around the Gold Coast harbor (Roslyn, Sea Cliff, Glean Head area) to take some beautiful pics....and this is what made me love Glenmar even more!
     
Then we finally got to the PAR-TAY! Sans Souci of Sea Cliff. Major reason we went here was it was on the water, it was original (not your usual wedding factory place) and there is only one event at a time there so it was all about our wedding (me me me!!!) Reception was at sunset in the outside garden, and dinner and dessert inside. Here are some pics of the lovely Sans Souci. Ok I guess that is enough photos! I have over 1100 of them!! All in all it was the best wedding I could have ever imagined. I stuck to my budget, and got everything I wanted and more. Now, here are my reviews. I'm going to go with the old A+ through F system:
DRESS-Amsale Boutique-A+
SHOES-Stuart Weitzman-A+
BRIDESMAID DRESSES-Watters and Watters through Priscilla of Boston- B (loved the dresses but Priscilla Of Boston was a little weird with my girls about tailoring)
Invitations-Invitations by Dina in Syosset- A
FLOWERS-Donald Hedgecock Florist (house florist of Sans Souci)- A+ for sure, he gave me such a great deal and the flowers looked better than what I saw from the most expensive flower shops I need not name!
GUYS TUXES-Men's Wearhouse-A+, they looked good and got everything one on time!
CAKE-done in house by Sans Souci and included in package-A, it was good and pretty!
DJ-In the Mood-B, They were pretty good but kind of cheesy. We danced a lot though, but it was more young music
PHOTOGRAPHER-John from Glenmar in Roslyn-A+ amazing
LIMO-Limo Lou (I forget what company he was from but he came recommended!) his number is 631-366-2018-A, he was on time and went with the flow
One other thing we did that might be helpful, instead of favors we made a donation to the American Cancer Society and put out tent cards saying that on all of the tables. It felt better to do and no one ends up throwing out a soap or candy.
