not family. more like my friend's obnoxious husband.

if it were family I think it would be entertaining - as long as there is no fighting at my wedding I don't care what others do - get drunk, puke, dance nutty, whatever.

oh yeah my dad is extremely vocal hahahaha. My reaction when dealing with vendors or anything like that is to talk and handle it first not yell at first hahaha but yeah i can be pretty vocal. People always say they wonder who has a bigger mouth my dad or me lol

Make sure though that your Fh tells him, hey dad i want youto have a good time just relax. Well hey at least you know you'll have a ton of extra pics

i have a great story!

MILs friend who is in her 50s got DRUNK at the wedding. So she was sitting in a van they got to go home and she has her head btw her legs trying not to puke.

So DH goes up to her and says "Hey what were you drinking you nut" and she was like "Great wedding i was drinking slippery nipples the whole night but now its so cold out mine could cut glass" ((PS that was NOT what she was drinking but anyway ))

DH was like and ran away from her

Then she puked out the window the whole way home

So many people puked at my wedding, thankfully none of them at the actual hall unless they were in the bathroom

all class i tell you, i should have asked people not to puke

I try my best to deal with everyone courteously, especially vendors. I have found that I do not get the same courtesy in return most times.

I often have a hard time knowing when to pull out the big guns.

I feel like if I am paying for something, regardless of the amount spent, I should be respected. But people in general are not very nice, or reasonable. It is as if vendors are doing me a favor by accepting our money.

I would like suggestions on how to tactfully handle these meanies! I feel like I am trapped; like if I get frustrated the vendor is going to screw me over.



I have given advice to people about things I have had to handle and was successful at, but there are so manythings that have been really handled unsuccessfully for me.

Isn't that the kicker? It's sad when some vendors act like they are doing you a favor, especially once they have most of your money. Knowing the wedding business, you'd think the least they could do is try and put your mind at ease knowing everything couples deal with planning a wedding. It's a crumby feeling worrying if you're going to get screwed over, especially for your wedding.

FFIL at our engagement party got there earlier than FH and I did to make sure things were set up and ready. We were like huh!? It was weird because FH and I paid for it and all and he was there worrying about little things...it was kinda embarassing because he is a big romanian guy who well speaks his mouth and gets angry if things dont go his way.

So I am just worried at the wedding he will walk into the reception room before fh and I get to see it and complain about something or fix something


what can ya do...not going to let that ruin my day!!! but def have to warn my photographers that FFIL is definitely into picture taking and will probably be telling them what pics to take at certain times

WOW the whole yelling and making sure things get done sounds very familiar thats how my dad is. I guess it is a romanian thing, loud and opinionated hahaha. I dont yell at vendors or other people though.

Dont worry, i think he will be too busy though doing other things so dont worry. He probably won't have time to make sure they are setting up your RH right.

Not my family but his. His moms whole side are alcholics and they all hate their step mom. His mom and aunts all told me not to sit themby her. Also, they keeps saying how much fun its gonna be b/c of open bar all night (they are from usptate NY). I am so scared!!!!

My parents are pretty good, and already thinking of ways to take of this. One relative, who lives far away, isn't being invited (and won't know about the wedding until after the fact) -- my parents judgement on that. There is another person, not a relative, but is married to a close family friend who is of course being invited, but no one can stand the guy. My parents just went out with that couple and they are trying to figure out a way to ask the guy to kindly not show up because he curses not stop and acts very inappropriate (and when I saw this actions that was WITHOUT liquor!). I wholeheartedly approve!

gladly no, we don't have family members that are out of control. but I can't say the same for some of our friends. After knocking back a couple of drinks some of them can go a little bit wild.
