Calling April Brides & Married Girls for advice

How are you feeling? Or how did you feel 2 weeks before the wedding?
I'm a total mess. Literally. I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes. Don't know why.

I posted last week that I have so much left to do, i got a lot done but I feel like the more i take off my list, somehow magically more things appear on my list.

i just want to enjoy these next 2 weeks and not worry about stupid crap.

i feel like there arent enough minutes in an hour, enough hours in a day, enough days in a week

Re: Calling April Brides & Married Girls for advice

I hear you girls! I'm not quite a mess yet... but with my hair stylist cancelling on me yesterday I've been a little nervous about finding someone else and getting that taken care of. And there are still a lot of things I haven't done yet... finish buying BM gifts, pick readings, do programs, finalize music with DJ, my final fitting, etc. Trying to coordinate all of these things and hoping they all come together seamlessly is bound to cause some major stress!!! But from what I have read from other brides and girls who are now married, everything will be FINE! We just have to remember that.

Re: Calling April Brides & Married Girls for advice

These last 2 weeks before your wedding are going to be THE most difficult and stressful and tiresome and frustrating. You're going to feel completely overwhelmed and slightly hopeless. Trust me it is COMPLETELY NORMAL. I literally cried every other day, like BAWLED, the 2 weeks before the wedding. I would come home from work and the tears would burst as soon as I walked in the door because I was so overwhelmed and just wanted it to be over.......Then, I would say the day of your rehearsal dinner you'll feel this strange calm overcome you because you know what, at that point what's done is done and you just sit back and enjoy.

I'm not going to tell you to try and relax and not get so worked up because the day after your wedding you're going to look back at all these things you got worked up over and laugh at yourself about how you thought such little things were the end all be all of your wedding when in the end they didn't mean a thing, because even though that's the truth, it's all something we have to go through. It's all part of the whole experience.

What I will say is just try and rest. TRY. You probably will not get much sleep the week of, but at least try. Sleep always helps if you can get it. I didn't get ANY and I know that would have helped me at least a little.

Chin up, it's all over soon!!!!

yeah i felt the same way. With 3 days left, I feel worse then I ever did before because of what is going on....i just feel like i can't focus and like I am forgeting something.
Before I got distracted with the death of my cousin, I started to feel depressed because I really did enjoy planning my wedding and I don't know what i'll do with myself when it's all over. We've been living together since december so it's not even like that will be a surprise......just hang in there. Take a break from wedding stuff for a few days then come back to it.

good idea to take the day off to get things done, but sometimes I think the gym actually gives you more energy!!

i hear ya..i was going to sleep at like 2am until i finally had to stop and get some rest. But there is still so much to do and i have 4 days left.

Get as much done now - before the week of. I still have to tie ribbons on my programs and bring them to the RH tonight. Then buy some stuff for the HM and do my nails, etc. I have of tomorrow and fri and the wedding is sun so it shold all get done.

I am usually emotional and I am even more so now- i think its normal.

Hang in there- it will all work out. make a master list and keep checking it off.

Re: Calling April Brides & Married Girls for advice

Gabbie, don't worry. I've had knots in my stomach constantly and I'm just exhausted from trying to get everything done. FH called in sick to work today because he is exhausted too.

Honestly, just try to keep a checklist of what you need to finish and try to knock off at least 1 thing a day. It will help you keep focused. Ask for help and assign jobs to FH.

All your major vendors are probably set. So, basically the wedding will run itself at this point. I'm sure what you're worrying about at this point is probably all the small thoughtful details, which, if they don't get done no one will notice but you. Those details are great to have, and trust me, I'm running myself ragged right now trying to work on them too, but no one will miss them if they are not there . Get whatever you can done, and don't sweat the rest of it.

Hang in there! Our big day is soo soon! We're supposed to be enjoying it. Try to look at the big picture and remember that this is a wonderful celebration about the fact that we're marrying our FH's and starting our lives out with them in front of our friends and family. It's a wonderful thing!

ive heard MANY brides feel this way, its normal so dont worry. I mean we are all going to have such a huge life change its hard not to feel so many emotions.

As far as worrying about getting things done. Did you do all your big things? you have your vendors right? you have a dress, you have an rh booked and have a location booked for ceremony whether a church or also at the rh. SO you are ALREADY set. If you dont get to the menu's, programs, or an other small detail YOU will be the only one who knows and although now you feel these little details will be missing from your wedding day, nobody else will notice anything missing. The small details are for us hahaha. Guests get to a wedding and they care about the food, the drinks and the music. If you think about it, how many weddings have you attended that had personalized menus, programs, customized table numbers? you'll notice that many of them didnt have this and you didnt even think twice about the fact that they didnt have it, you most likely didnt notice. If you get to it fine if not, as far as how your wedding day goes it will be the exact same. A guest wont have less fun without personalized menu's.

if you have other more important things to do then ask for ppl to help you, dont feel bad asking. What big things do you have left?

Just think in 2 weeks you wont have any more planning to do and wont have a bunch of things left to do, you'll be in bora bora relaxing

ITA. I figure I have all the major stuff done; anything else is small potatoes. if I don't get to do menus, oh well no big deal. at this point I banned myself from thinking about the wedding (except the RH appt) until after my semester is done on 5/8.

so I'm sure you're in better shape than you realize! taking the day off will help!

i know it seems like a long list but dont worry.

As far as your final fitting, thats something you'll enjoy doing and the final meeting at RH, youll just sit down telling the BM what you want and him going over things with you so not like youll have work to do. Maybe try to schedule these in the same day

Pay for limo-can somebody do this for you or can you pay over the phone. Many allow you to pay over the phone so that will help you out alot

you said your getting marriage license tomorrow so that will be off your list very soon

dress for your bachelorette-can you order it online? i did that for my shower, i ordered it on the thursday before and asked for next day shipping and got it the next day. I saved myself going nuts looking for one right before.

accessories for your bm's-you said youre also doing this tomorrow so you'll have 2 big things checked off by tomorrow

calling in with a final headcount luckily wont be alot of work youll just have to call in. The seating chart, also give that to others to help you. Such as your fh's side, let him decide who sits where and with who or give to your FMIL to do it. With Fh's family theres alot of this one cant sit with that one, and this one has to sit closer to fh's families table and blah blah blah so fmil did her side with the seating chart so i dont get anybody mad and she didnt mind helping at all. Let fh do his friends and then you just do your side

songs for playlist-let your fh help and think of it as fun, youre picking the songs your guests will have a great time dancing to.

Bp gifts-can you also do this tomorrow? then you'll have 3 things off your list

and great that your bp will be there to help you wrap favors, make it a fun night with the girls too and enjoy it, dont see it as a task hahaha

the other things you dont have to do anything for just sit and wait for them to arrive.

OH YEAH....

I lost 5 pounds in the last week or so, I was stressed, I couldn't eat, I fought with DH. I yelled at my dad. I even BOUGHT A NEW DRESS with 2 weeks to go b/c I had a breakdown & decided I hated my dress I was a psycho.

Everything that is happening is TOTALLY normal. You have dreamed of this day since you were a little girl and the thought of it not being perfect is enough to make you snap. But you cannot control the world. Not even on your wedding day. Something might go wrong, and you know what? ITS OK. You'll still be beautiful, you'll still get to marry the man of your dreams & you'll still have a great time. Even if your limo is late or your BM passes out or whatever.

Sit back & enjoy the ride, I wish I had.

Time is flying by, and there is not enough of it. I think everyone is way more emotional the few weeks before their wedding. I mean you have every emotion going through you in these upcoming days..happy, sad, nervous, loved, stressed, tired, excited..etc. It's hard to stay relaxed and sane! But it will all be worth it when the day comes and it is the best day of your life!
