UPDATED*****Raymour and Flanigan - major vent

So i posted the other day about buying my bedset.

We its been a few days and Ive had nothing but problems with them. We were told the biggest bed was king but a cali king mattress would be fine- we were told to bring 460 down for the mattress and we could only defer payments for a year. All weekend I saw commericals to defer to 2013 - so i called monday and asked y we werent offered that option - she said bc she gave us a discount. I asked about the discount and it was only 200!!! I said who cares i want to defer. I was told we could defer the whole thing. Later i went in to pay the $ and ring it up again to defer payments. Im told then the mattress cant be deferd bc its not over 3k and since its a special order it has to be 3k minimum so only the bedset can be deferred everything but the mattress. So im peeved. Then im told i have to put down 526...not 460!!! GRRRR Then I go home and look at the measurements and theres NO WAY a cali king mattress can fit in a king frame. I call this woman all day long until i finally ***** so mucrh they pull her off the floor. She keeps telling me it should fit. I asked her to call manufacturer. She calls me back and says good thing i asked - it wont. THey were calling her back to make sure it can be made in cali king. I told her - you said it should fit! She calls me back and tells me its a special order - so i need to put 150 down. I asked her to make sure the payments can be deferred bc its not over 3k - she said fine. Now that i hung up wth her Jason is calling back bc why cant the mattress be deferred too?? This whole experience has ****** so far.

Please be careful if you use them.

So Jason calls back to see why the mattress cant be deferred too and what the measurements are of the cali king bed. He got a supervisor and she appoligized and said it could be deferred since its being ordered as part of the bedset package special they are having. And then she gives him the measurments of 93" long and 84.5" wide. I go online and ofcourse thats the king. Im so pissed we leave and go right down there. As soon as we walk in im acosted by 2 salesmen and i quickly go right in and turn the corner to go to customer service. ONE OF THE SALESMEN STARTS WALKING AFTER ME GOING HELLO HELLO!!!! I was so mad - and trust me I do NOT get all mad and really say my mind - but i shot back around and pointed my finger and told him HOW RUDE - DONT YOU COME WALKING AFTER ME - THAT AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOR IS UNACCEPTABLE AND I AM GOING TO COMPLAIN!! So we get to customer service and i politely told the supervisor my problems. Saleswoman comes back and we start the paperwork, but ofccourse we cant order it bc the manufacturer is closed so now i Have to go back. I went to the highest manager there and had it out with him about their sales staff. I do not like it that anytime i have gone in there im bombarded when iwalk in - take the hint - i walked away and if i need you ill find u. I heard nothing but good things about this place. SAt night was fine - our saleswoman was nice - she didnt pressure us, but just yeahed me to death. She saw a first time sucker and ran with it. But now everything has been straightened out. The supervisor there is wonderful and very appolgetic.

Now FH tells me since i have a great line of credit with them he wants me to buy him a movie chair for the wedding. I kicked him in the shins.

I am also very weary of Raymour and Flanigan- DH and I bought a bookcase from them and one of the shelves were missing! I called like 4 times and NOBODY called me back so I just gave up on getting the shelf.

We knew we were taking a risk because we also went to look for dining room chairs and a bedroom set and I didn't see ANYTHING I liked- the salesman was very pushy and I pretended like I was a bit ditzy and couldn't make up my mind at all... we ended up getting chairs from Ashley which are great!

We had gone home and looked them up on the internet - we googled "Raymour and Flannigan complaints" and it was like they had 10 complaints PER DAY!!

I was like no way am I EVER going back there- we ended up getting our bedroom set (gift from DH's parents) at Ethan Allen in Lynbrook- they also come and measure your space and help with the layout FREE OF CHARGE... so no obligation to buy as well.

The salesman there (Chris) was very helpful and really assisted us greatly- there was one piece we wanted and we weren't sure it would fit- Chris had a person from the delivery division come and measure- turns out it would not fit through our hallyway leading into the bedroom - but we chose something else and it works for us.
Good thing they did that or else we'd have been in trouble there.

My good friend has been having ridiculous converstaions with Raymour and F about his furniture. I swear to you no sofa that costs 3k should sag and put all parties to the middle in a giant lump.

I hope you work it out. Maybe it isn' t too late to take your business elsewhere!

uhoh...FH and I ordered our living room furniture from them last week...it will be delievered may 3rd when we move in...I hope nothing gets screwed up in the process....sorry this is happening...maybe your FH can get somewhere in calling them back about that whole deferment thing

Just if you do order from them BEWARE and really check your items over carefully ladies...also keep all the paperwork as well.
