January 04 brides......Winter wedding hall suggestions

Hi, I am new and have 1,000 questions.......

I am planning a wedding for Jan. 10, 2004 (sat. eve.) for @ 100-125. Everything I have seen so far is geared for summer weddings. It is a little depressing because either the grounds are really barren or there just is not a cozy feel. Anyone have any suggestions for a place that has an elegant but cozy, wintery feel (preferably with fireplaces). I would love for the outside to be decorated with lights so it does not seem so empty. My minimum limits where I can go and I was hoping for a 1 wedding at a time place.

Also, my Italian family is big on the food and drink so I would love suggestions on that as well.

I appreciate all the help! Thanks!

More than one wedding at a time, but Fox Hollow has a very warm wintery feeling. Also the Milleridge Cottage (which may be one wedding). Watermill is decorated beautifully at Christmas time, but there is more than one wedding.

You should also check out the Three Village Inn. They decorate wonderfully for the holidays and it has a warm cozy feel to it yearround. There is one wedding at a time and your guest amount would be perfect there. Good luck!!! oh and the food is delicious : ).

Of the places I visited during my search, I think that Milleridge Inn, Carltun, and the Carlyle had fireplaces and what I would call elegant with a cozy feel, and are all one wedding at a time...

We are having our reception at the Sand Castle in Franklyn Square They have a fireplace that is beautiful with lighted Floors. They have a room that fits up to 150 and another room that fits up to 400...we have that room b/c we are having 250 people.

I'll second Stewart Manor Country Club (www.stewartmanor.com) But I am biased, our wedding was there. They have one wedding at a time, two beautiful fireplaces, beautiful woodwork in the reception room and we only had to guarantee 100 people. They don't have lavish gardens but they have a gazebo and beautiful property with white lights on the trees, etc.

FM me if you have any questions:)

We used the Coral House for our December wedding. They really do a great job with decorating, both inside and out. I have also seen the Milleridge at holiday time and it is beautiful as well.

Try the Roslyn Claremont Hotel. It is a nice hotel, very elegant. I was considering it, but the main ballroom is in a room without windows. It's a very classical room with paintings on the walls. If you don't mind the lack of view, you should check it out. They give you a free room for that night as well.

Re: January 04 brides......Winter wedding hall suggestions

For 100-125 people I would suggest the Millerdige Carriage House- they are located in the village on the milleridge property- 100-125 is to small for the cottage.

They decorate the best during the holidays.

Re: January 04 brides......Winter wedding hall suggestions

We are having a December 2004 wedding and looked at a bunch of places...Right now we are trying to decide between the FOx Hollow, North Ritz and John Anthony's. Alot of places would only allow us to have the wedding on a Friday night as opposed to a Sat night since our party will only be about 150 people (and not 200). The Millridge Inn Cottage will not even consider us at all, and directed us to the George Washington Manor (same owners) or the Millridge Inn Carriage House (max 120 people).
Hope this helps

I have been hearing really good things about Fox Hollow ( I have known too many people that have gone there which is why I chose not to) good luck!

That is why the FOx Hollow is also not our first choice, but they off SOOO much for your money..and no one has anything bad to say about it.
You may want to look into it...

My aunt had her January wedding at Westbury Manor and it was decorated so nice, perfect for a winter wedding....it isn't one wedding at a time though.

Have you checked out the long island mansions most of them have fireplaces and an intimate feel to the rooms, during the winter when the grounds are covered with snow they look beautiful.LOL
