UTI AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unbearable!! Called and the only Dr. available, out of a medical center with usually infinite possibilities, was, the creepy one, the one you tell your Husband is a "dirty old man" So, had to go!!! Chatted with the nurse, telling her my symptoms, and said, if Dr. (Creepy) needs to do an exam, to rule out a yeast infection, well, then I asked for a certain size piece of exam equipment be used, because the last time Dr. (Creepy) did an exam, I couldn't sit down for days!!!! It felt like I had been through childbirth!!
Hope I'm not being too graphic!!! So, the nurse put a paper cape on the table, but I thought it was a paper cover for the bottom and was confused!! So, I asked if she made a mistake, and she said, "No"; I asked why does he need to check up top?? She said, "He needs to check my back, and my kidneys!!" Ok, I thought, he can't just lift the back of ny shirt for that???? So, Dr. came in, and listened to my heart, but NEVER CHECKED MY KIDNEYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The good news is I'm on an antibiotic and feeling much better, tonight!!!!!!! Mary

UPDATE Waiting on the Dr.'s office to call back. The antibiotic is not working, so, need something else. I also started to get a tight throat, this morning, so now I can't take that med. anymore. Mary MOB

I'm sooooo annoyed!!!!!!!!!!!! Called the Dr.'s office to give them an update, to give the Dr. who treated me on Sat. Guess the message never got to the nurse; She just called me, saying, "Dr. said it's only been 48 hrs. blah, blah, blah, and stay on the antibiotic!!!" Unbelievable!!! From past appts. with this man, I should have guessed!! My urologist would have never taken that point of view!! But since I had already seen this guy on Sat. because my urologist doesn't have weekend hours, I thought, "I'll stick with this guy, since I already paid them for an appt. and began treatment with them." Well, my urologist would have immediately put me on something else, because we have a history together. I told the nurse I cannot continue the antibiotic he prescribed, because after I took it, I started getting tight in my throat, and if I wouldn't have thrown up, it could have been a worse reaction. I had already explained my family predisposition to anaphylactic shock, even if we had taken a medication before with no reaction. I've been waiting all day for them to call, so I can take a new antibiotic and be better for the Flower Show tomorrow, and the man tells me to just continue the medicine!! For Pete's sake!! I could have been in and out with my Urologist!!!!! Mary

Mary, what kind of soap do you use? I'm asking because if I use Dial soap I will get a UTI or some kind of irritation. Even try changing your laundry detergent because you never know what might be causing you to get so many UTI's so close together....it could be something you would never even consider. Sit down and think of everything you are using and what you would change.

Hi, Liz!!!! Just got up!! Didn't go to Church today because of not feeling well. Well, I use Tide Free,abd Dove for Sensitive Skin. My Urologist assured me that this isn't even a diabetic problem, but a menopausal one. She clains the urethra narrows, when in menopause, because of lower estrogen levels, thus predisposing to UTI's I have my own theories, one being drinking diet green tea, several glasses the night before. I don't think I'll do that again. I have a list of bladder irrritants, to stay away from. Mary

Sorry Mary sounds like a terrible, no good, who needs it kind of a weekend!!!!!

Thanks, Liz and Kathy!!!!! Yea, I never use to mind being a woman, until this past yr.!!!!! I didn't even mind hot flashes!!! Menopause is a bummer!!!!!Am I the only one with these UTI/ menopause related issues?? Mary

Silly girl.........no way! I have the horrifying hormone hell going on too. Cold, hot,cold, hot...I think my poor husband thinks I am crazy. One minute I am turning up the heat and wearing fleece complaining I am cold...two minutes later I am in a tank top opening the window cursing the fool who turned up the heat! Hello the fool was me two minutes before...but the hormone hell erases the memory!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope you are feeling better. My doc told me to drink cranberry juice. Who knows. Each person is different. Hope this med you are on works and it stays away awhile. Susan
