Debi's Shower/Beach Themed/Tea Party Menu
Deb and I just chose her shower menu!!!!
It's a Courtyard Tea, served on a three tiered server, and includes individual pots of tea, or Iced Tea.
First Tier
Fresh Fruit with coconut and vanilla mini scones, served with Chantilly cream,lemon curd, and preserves
Second Tier
Hawaiian ChickenSalad w/Pineapple Habenera
Roast Beef Pinwheel in Sun-dried tomato wrap
Crab Ricotta Puffs
Turkey on White Bread w/Cranberry Cream Cheese
Bottom Tier
Chocolate Covered Strawberries
Mini Cream Puffs
A coconut dessert, to be determined by chef.
There will also be specially decorated cupcakes, and flip flop cookies as favors.
I asked for suggestions on when to mail the invitations, since they want the final head count by the first week of May, and I was told to mail them right away, so Debi has to come over and determine what she wants printed on the invitations, and we'll print them on my computer. We also need to get the rest of the centerpiece materials. That's it for now!! Mary

Hi Mary,
I've had never heard of a Courtyard Tea, but it sounds wonderful! I also love the idea of cupcakes. That is a big thing in NYC and my other daughter and I have been to several bakeries that specialize in cupcakes--delicious! What are flipflop cookies?

I was just checking the '08 brides and I saw your posting so now I know what flipflop cookies are. I thought it was some type of Pennsylvania cookie that I never heard of.
They are adorable!

 Love all the ideas!! The menu sounds soooo good. Very different and creative. We love the cupcake idea also and have thought about using them for the shower or wedding! Sounds like everything will be perfect!!

Sounds great Mary!! Would have loved to do that for my daughters shower but not too many places have teas here on LI
Love the cupcake idea. I wanted to do them for the shower but my daughter wants them instead of wedding cake for their reception!! So i think we might do a fun dessert instead at the shower and then maybe trays of cookies.

Thanks, Kathy!!!! Debi had a cupcake holder on her registry, so she bought it to hold the cupcakes at the shower. Their food is awesome!!!!
The menu choices were:
Top Tier
1. Fresh Fruit w/Mini Scone

Hi, Liz!!!! Debi plans to come over this next week, to print the invitations. How's your day going? It's so overcast here in Lancaster!! Rain!! Tomorrow is Mom's stress test from 11:30 until about 4:30. Pray there are no blockages, and that she gets through it ok. It will be very uncomfortable for her, because of the degenerative arthritis and osteoporosis. I guess I'll be taking lots of reading material!!! I don't like to leave in case she needs me. I agree!!!!! Maybe some day, y'all can make reservations to have tea at Sugarplums and Tea, if you're visiting in Lancaster Co. You can Google it for info. Mary

Hi, Liz!!!!! Well, Mom got through it, but it was uncomfortable, even though they did their best to make it easier, and they were very kind to Mom. After her first session of whatever they do, she emerged crying, poor thing. But it was finally over, and we went out for an early supper, and grocery shopping. I sat in the waiting room for about three hours, and I read and re-read the morning paper; Most of their magazines were for men. I did meet a really nice gal, also there for a stress test, about my age. She has four kids, some the ages of mine. Brrrrrrr, it is freezing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Talked to Deb tonight. Their e-pics are tomorrow!!! She got her nails done today. Can't wait to see them!! What's new with you?? Blessings!! Mary

Aww I feel so bad for your Mom, but thank God that is over.
Yes it is freezing today and I am completely done with winter and need some warm sunshine soon. I sure hope Debi is taking her pics indoors because she will get frostbite being outside for too long today. Tell her good luck and can't wait to see them.
