Wyndham Wind Watch Brides

did any of you plan of using the tent at the Wyndham? I can't believe its gone. We had our hearts set on that and now they took it away. I hate them and Suffolk County.

Anyone else upset about this?

I was a Wyndham bride and I don't remember seeing a tent. Where was the tent?

There was a tent behind the Wyndham, right by the entrance to the Grand Ballroom. Some ppl use it for cocktail hr, some for the reception. They were going to replace it with a new tent, featuring AC, hardwood floors, and beautiful draperies in the ceiling. Apparently when they went for the permit, Suffolk County denied them because indoor AC requires the walls to be insulated (can't be done with a tent). Also, the existing tent was supposedly illegal. So, they lost the tent. They're going to accomodate us in another room but the ambiance isnt the same.

I just went to a wedding there last weekend and the bride and groom had the same problem where they were supposed to have their cocktail hour in the heated tent but instead had to have it in another room. Even though it stinks they did not have it were they wanted, I heard the Wyndham comped them. They had an 1 & 1/2 coctail hour (instead of just 1 hr) and they added in some other benefits. Just make sure you get comped for this well, ladies.

let me tell you, i got the same deal from the wyndham. they broke the news to us about the tent and we were very upset as well. you are totally right, the ambiance just isn't the same. which room did they offer to you for cocktail hour? they offered us the garden terrace.
