Re: Newlywed Chop
I'm going back to my pixie cut after the honeymoon. I hate having long hair, but I wanted to be able to do something with it at the wedding. I'm glad someone posted about locks for love. I'll be donating to Pantene now.

Re: Newlywed Chop
I'm going to cut it after the honeymoon. When I met FH I had really short hair and he LOVES it short, so I plan to cut about 10-12 inches off

Re: Newlywed Chop
its weird but my hair is ALOT harder to manage when its short. When its long, in the summer if i left my house without drying it, it would be perfectly fine. I can blow dry it extremely quick. When i cut it short, my hair is so thin and soft that for some reason the short length makes it flip the opposite way and in order for my hair to look decent i have to really sit there and blow dry it very well and each section i have to fix the ends with a brush and blow dryer. So for me short hair is more maintenance

I agree. Short takes a lot more time when you have lots of hair and/or thick hair.

I cut my hair a few months ago b/c I was sick of it long, and I HATEEEEEE it. I will never do it again!!! Its finally growing out. I cannot deal with not being able to wear a ponytail.
hmm thats a good point, i wouldnt be able to not wear a ponytail! lol
well if its short enough no pony necessary
hahaha good point!!!
im not sure if i will go back to that short short length.. meg ryan hairstyle...
it was WONDERFUL cute and easy!
That is kind of what i was thinking of doing. something super easy to style and no fuss. as my hair gets longer it gets frizzier and it takes soooo much work to make it look smooth. hate it.

that is exactly my hair densie. i have very thin baby hair haha and have always had it long. then over labor day weekend i cut it to my shoulders but thankfully my hair grows really fast and is about 3 inches below my shoulders so I am growing it out and NOT cutting it after the HM or wedding. Fh loves long hair anyway.

me too....i have really soft hair - when it gets really long i can let it air dry and it will look soft and wavy - which is fine.......i could NEVER let it air dry when its short - i have to blow it out every single time or else i look i have a really bad haircut or i look like a boy!
i do like having short hair - but it has to be the right haircut......FH wants me to do something like victoria beckham - kind of like stack, long in the front short in the back........i dont know, i might do it but not right after the wedding.......

Re: Newlywed Chop
I cut my hair short over the summer (see pic on left) and then realized if I want curls on my wedding day I should grow it out (see pic on right from Thanksgiving). My hair grows really fast, so I'll trim it occasionally and then see how long it gets by Aug.
I plan to do the "chop" but only back to the length in the first picture -- I hate the way I look with short hair.
However, I might wait a little while - We leave for our honeymoon the morning after, and then I'll be flying directly back for my last year of law school. I might wait until my next time back in NY since I only get my hair cut when I'm home...
