Thinking of booking Chateua Briand - but I have a question...
Hi everybody. I'm new to the board. My FI and I really like the CB. We are thinking of having our cocktail hour in the Europa room and the main reception in Normandy. But I'm concerned because when we're in Normandy for the main reception, Europa (cocktail hour) will be open to the public as a restaurant. That means we'll be sharing the bathroom with anyone who goes to the restaurant. Does anyone think that should be a concern or am I over reacting? If anyone has used these rooms I'd love to hear if that was an issue. Thanks!!!

What is the time and day of your wedding? The Europa is not always very busy and this may not be a problem depending on when your wedding reception is held.

I don't think they would have it open during your cocktail hour. I suggest calling the BM you spoke with directly to clarify. Who did you talk to by the way?

Re: Thinking of booking Chateua Briand - but I have a question...
Cocktail hour is at 6:30 in Europa. Then at 7:30, when we leave that room to go to the main room (Normandy), the cocktail hour room becomes a public restaurant. It's not open to the public during our cocktial hour but I'm concerned because once it does open, the restaurant customers will have access to our bathroom. Should this really be a concern of mine??

Re: Thinking of booking Chateua Briand - but I have a question...
I did not find it to be a problem at all. Most of my guest did not even use the bathroom the entire time they were at our wedding strange but true, they have more than one bathroom any way. Fret not, all will be well. It will not be like a movie theatre back up

Re: Thinking of booking Chateua Briand - but I have a question...
I'm having my reception at CB too And I was at Shamma's wedding. I don't think you have anything to worry about.
Anyway, by the time your cocktail hour is over at 7:30 and they clean up, and set it up for restaurant business, we're talking 9 pm. Not that many ppl are going to be JUST coming in for dinner, so we're not talking a major crowd anyway.
If you love CB, do not let this stop you, b/c you or your guest won't even notice the difference.
Good luck and let us know what you decide

I was a CB bride also. Everything was done perfectly. I don't think you would have a problem. Even their bathrooms are gorgeous. You can't beat that. Good luck with your planning.

Re: Thinking of booking Chateua Briand - but I have a question...
Another previous CB bride here! Definitely will not be a problem. Anyway, even if there are some restaurant folks in the bathroom at the same time as your guests..they'd never know!
CB is beautiful and they did a great job...you won't be disappointed!

Re: Thinking of booking Chateua Briand - but I have a question...
We came out of the floor, it was awesome!!! Everyone loved the place, it was great, I just watched our video again Saturday night. CB knows how to do a wedding and they do it oh so well. You cannot go wrong with them. Please feel free to ask any questions.
Liz, things are looking well for us being there

I've heard great things about CB. Fi's best friend is getting married there this summer. If you have any fears you should definitely express them to the people you spoke to there and see what they have to say about it. Good Luck
