opinions on photographers

i'm meeting w/ photogs this month. i'd love any feedback/pics for these guys:

jeffrey lau
fadi kheir
be creative
cousins
merri cyr
patken
velvet
(blue daisy is on the list too, but i've already read a zillion rave reviews for her)

For most of these, i've already looked at their online galleries, which i feel can be deceiving since they're choosing the very best of all their pics. i have found some stuff in the brides' review too. we're def looking for a photojournalist style album.

ETA: also, how much has everyone been asked to put down to hold the date. i got an email back from one photog who wanted a $2000 DEPOSIT i didn't even have to put that much down on the rh, lol.

we're using velvet and feel very comfortable with both Bob and Judy (bob's doing the wedding, Judy did the e-pics). The deposit for our package was $700

We also used Velvet, and they were great. Bob was our main photographer for our wedding day (he also took our e-pics), and he was wonderful.

ETS: - A $2000 deposit is A LOT....I've never heard of putting down that much for a photographer....as you mentioned, even our RH deposit was less!
