Re: Vacation Recommendations Please
Kona Village resort in Kona Hawaii..... We were there last February.....OH MY GOD
The service was AMAZING...... Everyone has there own private Hale. Our had a private Jacuzzi. They refill the ice buckets in your room twice a day. Fresh juice in the fridge and a coffee pot and grinder with fresh Kona cofee everyday.
Everynight for tundown service tehy leave orchids on the bed and bottles of water on the night stand.
Food in the different restaraunts were AMAZING. Snorkeling AMAZING....AWESOME Trip!!
Highly recommend it, although it is a bit expensive!!! We had the package where all the food but not alcohol was included.
FM for questions Click here
Edited to add: If you go you must get an open air massage. I had a 2 hour open air massage on top of a hill overlooking the ocean and listening to the ocean waves crash and the soft breeze....AMAZING

Re: Vacation Recommendations Please
Cabo was FABULOUS!!!!
BUT........ At some resorts you can not swim in the waters bc the currents are too bad..
But... the town is totally safe and there are some amazing restaurants that we ate at..

Re: Vacation Recommendations Please
I definately would say Bermuda or St. Johns. St Johns (Trunk Bay) was actually one of the most beautiful, amazing beaches i have ever been to...very tranquil and quiet. And like someone else mentioned before its only a boat ride away from St. Croix, and St. Thomas. Bermuda is absolutely beautiful and the island is one of the friendliest islands you will ever go to.St. George in Bermuda is the old town in the island, Hamilton is the touristy area and then theres King Wharf where they have like the rum cake factory and swimming with the dolphins as well as other things.
Greece is gorgeous too but if you arent looking for a BUSY island definately do not go to santorini or mykonos- they are EXTREMELY busy with tourists at that time. Id say go for an island like Paros, Ikaria, Samos, Karpathos.... etc... There are lots of greek islands that are not touristy in the summer months.... Keep in mind though- Greece and the isles are very expensinve summe rmonths !@
Good luck!

Re: Vacation Recommendations Please
Caneel Bay and Cap Jaluca are great choices. We just came back from Costa Rica which was AMAZING. The hotel we stayed in was magnificent. I would also recommend Ladera in St. Lucia

Re: Vacation Recommendations Please
Throwing in another vote for St. John. We stayed at the Westin and it was fantastic - it's a different kind of resort than Caneel Bay (still very quiet and private but has phone and TV in the room and generally a bit more connection to the outside world). The entire island is GORGEOUS - great snorkeling, good food....I want to go back!!!!!

w00t w00t for St. Johns!!
ohhh, to be there right now!!! best vaca of my life. they spoiled us! and we had the most quiet we ever had. we usually had the entire (scott) beach to ourselves. awesome part is, you have like 6 (or more) beaches all right next to eachother...all unique.

We snorkeled with turtles at Hawksnest!!!
I thought of you when we passed Caneel Bay though - I remember reading your review and you saying it was so private. It was so private we passed the entrance 4 times before we found it

Re: Vacation Recommendations Please
I liked St. Marten. Cheap flight, pretty close to NY (4 hours), totally safe, everyone is friendly and they use the dollar (Big deal when compared to the Euro exchange rate). 1/2 Dutch, 1/2 French, very glamorous, great shopping (all the European designers have shops in Marigot) and duty free jewelry (what more could a girl ask for???) It really has a great mix of culture, beaches and the restaurants are first class as well.
Oh, and its Beautiful, of course.
FM me if you're interested in the details.

UMm DEFINATELYY!!!!!!!!!!! Bali, Indonesia
Jamahal Private Resort and Spa
I had the most AMAZING time in BALI. I cant even explain how beautiful the culture, ocean water, beaches and hospitable the people are. Bali is a small island of the coast of Indonesia. We stayed at the Jamahal Resort and Spa in Jimbaran Bay. Totally Private, GORGEOUS villas. 5 star treatment.... Here is the website: http://www.jamahal.net/ I do have a few pictures of the private pool/day bed in my album. Here is the resorts website Jamahal I really just thought they deserve credit!
