It was great reading your review especially since I just booked Flowerfield for 7-10-09. It is funny too because I LOVE the pomegranate color Watters and Watters offers. Question: Did you have red sashes on the back of the chairs at FF? I LOVE that. Please get back to me if you can.

they may have looked red b/c of the lighting in some pics but they were actually a "mocha" color - seen best here:
we did ivory linens with the mocha overlay - so, the chairs had the mocha sash but the guest's chairs were ivory linens - our chairs seen above are all mocha but you the idea and you can see the contrast on the gift table.

nope! that is what's great about FF - we got to choose whatever linens we wanted from their choice of beautiful linens most places would have prob charged extra for -- they have REALLY high end ones you can upgrade to with keyth (the florist) but there's no need b/c the ones that they have are so nice people will think you upgraded.
that and the dessert cart - people thought we upgraded for that and we didn't - it didn't cost us anything! HTH

WOW,besides the fact that you and everyone else looked absolutely gorgeous, explain to me how you managed to make red look really elegant and tastetful? I have seen soo many red weddings that just look cheap and tacky, but MAN you pulled it off sooo nicely. The tones of red were perfect, great work!!!!!!

that's b/c i'm the classiest biitch alive

i've always loved red and i knew, in my mind, that it has so much potential - it just needs to be done in the right way, the right shade, at the right time of year and NOT over-killed... like, i went with neutral linens (ivories and mocha) b/c if i had done red chair covers it just would have been too much - i off-set the reds with earth tones (like in my flowers) of greens, ivories, beiges, etc. so that helped and the most important was the girls dresses- they needed to be vibrant and pleasing to the eye - not fire engine and not maroon where it is too dark and drab - just right and the cranberry color watters and watters has worked out great - i went and looked at designer's COLORS first before looking at gowns b/c some designers didn't offer the "right red" for me and my taste so before i fell in love with a dress i wanted to make sure it was offered in the color i want - and so that is when i said lets look at watters collection and took it from there

check out what i just wrote above-
remember: soft and elegant
and less is more!
just try to do neutral and remember that you are going with red as an ACCENT so only use it when needed - not too much. and instead of stark white i recommend ivory or beige - it is a little softer against the vibrant red.
also, if you are doing a red bo-k i recommend, like keyth did for me, doing diff types of red roses with diff shades of red so it is not all one - that gives the bo-k dimension and allows it not to come off too bright or too dark and dreary.
