here's my attempt at a poem. please don't laugh too hard


We Are The Brides of 2006

We all came to LIW to prepare,
For a wedding and special memories to share,
With friends both old and new,
So many of us didn't have a clue,
Of how to find the right dress,
And learn how to spend so much less.

We planned get togethers at Fridays,
And learned we were similar in so many ways,
Whether a wedding in summer, winter, spring or
fall,
We knew we were brides who had to have it all.
A chocolate fountain here, an ice sculpture there,
We had 4 different trials to perfect our wedding
day hair.

We've gone to each other's weddings and just
when our DH's couldn't take anymore,
Another LIW wedding invitation would show up at
the door.
And just when 2006 finally came to an end,
The Wedding of the Year 2007 meant, as poor
DH would comprehend,
To pull out the suit once more,
And party on with our rockin' 06ers on the dance
floor.

Now 2007 is coming to an end,
And we realize that it's now time to spend,
Our time more wisely on LIFamilies,
Even though DH's are still begging us PLEASE,
Put an end to the online chatroom,
And come spend more time in our bedroom!

But, alas, we ARE the brides of 2006,
And although our board is about to close,
Our memories and time spent together are
things that everyone knows,
Will bond us as sisters for life.

We thank you Ron, Liz and Kim for all of the fun
we had,
Especially now as many are no longer bride and
groom but mom and dad,
Please don't forget us for we are, and always will
be, the brides of 2006.

"An Ode to LIW"

An engagement is a special time filled with laughter fun & tears, but where to go for support and strength when we start to feel wedding fears?

A special place, "our little secret" as most LIW brides would say,
a place to chat, to vent, to talk,
and find everything we need for that "special day" :)

Oh LIW, there is no other that can quite fill our hearts with joy, whether it's pictures of fred ( ) or poems to be read ( ) we've learned to be quite coy

Planning & searching for those perfect touches that will make our day unique,
we found right here on LIW, go ahead and try to critique!

All us 06'ers can vouch & say that LIW rocks our world...friendships we've made, and convo's to save, heck we even stayed as newlyweds and gave it a whirl!

So now it's time to say goodbye, and pass the torch along, but lets give a big shout out for 2006, 'cause to LIW our hearts will always belong!

One more special thanks to Ron & Liz, for creating this perfect little site...for being the reason behind our beautiful weddings, and preparing us to take flight!(to LIFamilies that is )
