Re: Diet time!! post here for support

Ahhhhhh - a Diet Thread! Excellent! Hauled my fat a$$ to work this morning and said, allrighty missy - NINE MONTHS to go! Like Sept20yay, my first fitting will be in June, so I have six months, really, to lose weight. I would like to lose 25-40 lbs, which I think I can do. Here are a few motivating visions:

1) You, skinny and gorgeous in your gown on your wedding day, with no flopping chicken flab under your arms!
2) You, gorgeous and slinky in some amazing dress for your rehearsal dinner!
3) You, gorgeous and fit in shorts/tank tops/bikini/little black dress on your honeymoon!
4) You, feeling beautiful and sexy in your DH's arms as he holds you close and tells you how much he loves you.... (which he does anyway, but what the hell - it's a fun vision).

Re: Diet time!! post here for support

I am going to give on dieting. My new thought process. I will eat healthy and exercise. Thats what I did when I lived in Miami and I lost 40 lbs in 7 months.

So if it worked then, I hope it works now.

Re: Diet time!! post here for support

Okay- this is something that worked for me... Last year I lost 40 ibs on ww and kept it off--- I gained back about 8 ibs, but I will take it off. One day at a time... today, when you see something you want, tell yourself you will have it tomorrow.... And then tomorrow, the next day.... you get the point.

Remind yourself that every single day you'll look better than your last....

Re: Diet time!! post here for support

Count me in, I am setting the goal for 15-20 lbs in the next 6 months. I got my buff brides book, and just picked up the step and excersize ball. Also joining weight watchers tonight.

I am determined to be able to wear a bikini on HM, and to be able to rock my strapless wedding dress w. toned arms!

Re: Diet time!! post here for support

Thrilled-

I'm doing Carbwatchers. It's similar to WW in that you meet once a week. it's different in that you meet one-on-one with a nutritional counselor. I basically eat less than 40 grams of carbohydrates a day. I eat absolutely NO sugar which is the hardest part of this way of eating. I eat unlimited amounts of protein and starch free veggies (i.e. 0 point vegetables). I eat limited eggs, cheese & nuts.

You can check them out on the web at www.carbwatchers.net.

They are more expensive that WW, but IMO worth it b/c you get the one-on-one that you don't get at WW.

Re: Diet time!! post here for support

This is great I need support too! After losing 15 pds, I gained 10 back and I am fitting (barely) into all the new clothes I bought! I am SOOOO mad at myself!!!

I am hoping (someone motivate me here on the hoping part) to go to the gym on Saturday for a step class. No more greasy food that is the first start for me

Re: Diet time!! post here for support

I hear ya CW - my addictions are bread and cheese and grease! I can not touch a brownie in front of me all day, but if someone set a plate of cheese fries or a bowl of chili or a greasy burger, it's a goner in 3 secs flat. I'm also an emotional eater - stress, forget about it. Eat, eat, eat. I have gained 15 lbs since 9/11.

Re: Diet time!! post here for support

my downfall is ooey gooey greasy foods and carbs. French fries with melted mozzerella and gravy on the side, rice, pasta (i could eat pasta 3 times a day and never get sick of it), steak, potato's, krispy kreme's and ice cream.

But as I say every year, this year I am going to lose weight.

I was weak. I went to Starbucks and got a VENTI caramel macchiato (sp?) and a croissant. Looks like everyone started their diets today. Am I the only one, waiting until Monday? That's when I'm joining WW again! I can't wait!

Re: Diet time!! post here for support

Been on WW for the past 10 months and have lost 42 pounds, it is a great diet. When the weight started to come off I only was able to see it, then all of a sudden it showed everywhere. There is nothing like someone telling you you look great! I want to lose another 20 pounds but it seems to be taking forever! I only wish I would look like those girls in the ad!

Re: Diet time!! post here for support

WOW 42 pounds in 10 months!!! Way to go!

I was on WW last year and LOVED it, but I let a big 12 pounds get to my head and screwed up I'd like to lose about 20-25 lbs by October. I think I should be able to stick to it, not sure if my body will allow it though I want to look SKINNY in my pics! Not thin... SKINNY! aaaah, can't wait!

Re: Diet time!! post here for support

I am holding off until the end of February to go dress shopping because I really want to lose weight before I go to get a dress. I am doing WW. I have done it in the past and did great on it, but unfortunately after meeting FI, I gained a lot back. My motivation is getting a dress that I will look great in.
