Humn.. what is your idea of really nice, how many people are you lookig for the room to hold? Where about's in nassau? What kind of food are you looking for? How much per person are you looking to spend?

Milleridge Inn restaurant has 8 private rooms- $24.95++ per person.
George Washington Manor- has smaller rooms- also around $24.95-25.95++ pp
Guy Anthony's in Bellmore- around $25pp
vittorios in Amityville (right on border of Nassau) around $25PP

preferaby Italian.... anywhere in Nassau. north/south shore...really nice as in a nice place with possibly a private room that holds up to 50-60 people.... My sister (MOH) has asked for ideas and although she already has a place in mind, she wants to look into other places..

My uncle used to work for Guy & AJ when they were at the other place (buon appetito).. my family uses them for everything. They catered my xmas party we did 2 weeks ago and they did my engagement party over the summer & they catered the shower I threw for my best friend- i LOVE THEM.
Vittorios is in the village of Amityville (on 110) they make GREAT Italian. It is my new favorite Italian restaurant.

The Maine Maid Inn does a nice job, but that's not Italian...Fabio's in East Meadow is good, and they'll do a nice job if you are in the private room. Otherwise, their service is very rushed. Matteo's in Bellmore is good too. I've heard good things about Guy Anthony's, but I've never been there. 
There's Peppercorn's in Massapequa. My shower was at Bistro on Broadway in Hicksville...food was great, and we've been back there for dinner several times.

Sassyz75, that is soo funny! FH and I live in the space where buon appetito used to be! My FFIL owns the space and we demo'd out the space and redid it a couple of years ago.. soo funny!
I would have it at Guy's but being that my FMIL and his father are no longer married and aren't on the best of terms (to say the least) I'd rather stay away from that.. lol

guy anthonys is good and they have reasonable prices for showers, they are a llittle small for 50 - 60 people though.

How about the George Washington Manor, Ecco Cafe, or Jonathan's? I think that Butera's in Massapequa also does parties but the room isn't private.

My rehearsal dinner was held at an upscale northern italian restaurant called "Ecco" on Jericho Turnpike in Garden City Park that I think would be great for a shower too... It is on the pricey side, but they have a beautiful private room and the food is fantastic! I believe the minimum was 40 people on a Saturday night (we had about 45 I believe) and the maximum is about 60. I'm sure the minumum and prices would differ on other days/times. Excellent food, great atmosphere, and impeccable service.

We had my SIL's @ PEPPERCORNS in hicksville. It doesn't look like much from the outside-but the upstairs is beautiful!! we had about 75 people though. The price in 2000 was about $25 pp. hope this helps!
