The sun was shining outside yesterday here, but
It was pouring inside! I had my family shower yesterday and it was a TON of fun. My sister/MOH threw it with my aunt and it was just wonderful. FH's dad's family came down from Upstate, his mother's side came out from DE where she lives, and my family and friends came down from the Island. FMIL made a FOOL of herself, so I'm glad I didn't send that email to her b/c it would have made it worse than it was. 
Anyway, it was a wonderful day and now we have a ton of stuff here in our apartment!
Etiquette quesiton for you girls: is it bad luck/taste to use your shower gifts? FH wants to use the new knife set we got!

Congratulations!!!!! That's a good question about bad luck/taste but we're already using a few of the items we got so I say GO FOR IT!!!

yay for you!!! congrats on all of your new gifts. my shower was a few weeks ago and i toyed with the same question. since we were already living together, and we didn't have room to store all of our new gifts, we decided to unpack our gifts and use them.

Congratulations on your showe!!!!! As for using shower gifts, I say go for it. As soon as we got home from my shower, DH unpacked our coffee maker and made a pot of coffee.

Congrats!! Glad so many people made the trip for you...now go enjoy those presents!! My theory...you need to make sure they work or aren't broken in case they need to be exchanged!!! haha
