Wedding Planners

Couldn't sleep last night and WE had a mini-marathon of "Rich Bride Poor Bride" (which seems a little bit up more my alley than either Bridezillas or Platinum Weddings). It seems like all the couples thought that the wedding planners were worth it and kept them on budget.

Thoughts?

I like planning the wedding...I think it makes it more us when I am doing it...I am just pacing myself and getting things done little by little... I am against them. But if it makes your life easier...go for it!!!

I am not hiring a wedding planner but, i will have a DOC to make sure everything runs smoothly on the wedding day because i plan on having a lot of DIY and I dont think the hall is going to set up everything

I absolutely loveeeeeeee planning our wedding...I wouldn't give this job to anyone....I reasearched alot prior to even meeting fh because I'm into event planning in general....as far as the DOC...I'm probably getting married at the hall and I'll have a bridal attendant and maitre d...so there is no need to get one at this point. Because I don't want the added cost of a planner, I'm taking my time, being selective about my vendors, and researching as much as possible. If you feel that its too much to handle and can afford it...then go for it...but keep in mind, that people on those shows get to save on certain things because they're on the show for example they get a free taping of the show...no need for a videographer etc and who knows what else...I personally dont believe anything I see on reality shows, but thats just me...I'm trying to eliminate as many unnecessary vendors, so that I can channel the funds on ones that matter mostly to me...good luck!!!

I agree with most of the girls responses....I absolutely LOVE planning our wedding!!!! I've dreamed about this day since I was a little girl and I would not give anyone else the job of planning our wedding b/c I'm OCD!

Nothing against wedding planners, hey if that works for you then go for it!

I actually am not into all the little details that go into planning a wedding (hence the reason why we originally wanted to elope!) So there's the part of me that feels I could hire a wedding planner and say, "Ok I want this, this, this and that...go to it!' instead of having to deal with everything myself.

I just haven't figured out if it would be worth it in the end to spend the money like that.

you can use a wedding planner on certain things.. but planning a wedding is fun... and stressful.. =)

Honestly, I don't have extra money to put people on payroll. I like the idea of planning my wedding myself. It makes it so much more personal

I love planning our wedding but I would like to hire a planner to streamline the process. They can do research on all my fab ideas and negotiate contracts and will try to keep my budget.

I think I will hire one sometime at the end of next year.

1- I have no money for a wedding planner and 2-i pretty much enjoy planning our wedding, even though it can get stressfuland will get worse, i like the fact that im doing everything for MY wedding, and not someone else, or even worse a stranger
